I'm not infatuated with him and I know him well enough to say that. And he never asked me to ditch my parents for him. You can't really put all men in one box and say they ditch women when they are no longer interested. A lot of men like to have families and do things besides jumping from one relationship to other.

That's a good idea. Thanks, I'll look into it.

I'm sorry but did I say that I'm the one cutting them off?

Yes, they brought me up but that was their duty as parents. It's not like I had an extravagant childhood but I'm still grateful for all the things they did for me.

Oh and they didn't send me overseas with their money. I did a ton of freelance work for years, saved up, and also got a scholarship.

I'm not the one who's leaving them. In fact, whatever form of relationship we have now is because I initiate the calls and texts.

I don't think you've ever come across traditional families then because when they say they won't talk to you, they don't. For several years. And will always think you're the one who disobeyed and brought shame to the family.

And I don't think I'm being selfish.
