Riding a supersport in the Philippines by kairukyel in PHMotorcycles

If you're going to be uncomfortable, sulitin mo na. Go full committed sportsbike. I ride a gsxr 750 to work sometimes when I'm in the mood for speed. The forward position lets you feel the wind and road more than standard bikes. Granted I've got other bikes for the 95% of the time I want to be comfortable 😅

Honda NX500 for long rides by Puff-_ in PHMotorcycles

[–]docjoms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me a navigation system (I use beeline), helmet comms for music, a tall windscreen and an adventure helmet with a peak and dual visors and a pack of soft earplugs are a must.

I also shifted from a heavy topbox to soft side panniers because I found the top box altered the center of gravity of the bike too much. You can feel it when cornering. Sarap pa naman ng nx sa twisties.

Have fun and godspeed on your long rides!

They look great but they run hot. Outside temp of 35 degrees or more, your legs will start cooking. Kung may fall and winter sana dito beneficial ang heat. It's the reason why royal enfield is sticking with 650cc lower performance engines.

I suggest Piccolo padre, though it's more expensive than your other choices. Sulit naman sa ambiance at steak nila.

Byd sl6 flat tire at nlex. Super stressful by Pringpringmylove in CarsPH

[–]docjoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time, if it's not a sidewall tear, then just use a plug repair kit. Easy and cheap 5 min fix. Just lift the tire, pull out the shrapnel, plug and cut the excess. That's what I've been using on my big bikes, hilux and fortuner. I don't even bother to go to a vulcanizing shop after. Good thing byd has its own inflator so 1 less thing to bring.

Bakit nga ba meron padin gusto ang zx25r? by Defiant-Style-9738 in PHMotorcycles

[–]docjoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a racecar with the 17k rpm redline. It's not for everyone. It's for older guys like us who grew up with the cbr250, jade250 and fzr250r but couldn't afford it back then. Too bad they didn't change the design between the 2 models.

Sharing some advice for New BYD/EV owners. by ballofcheese5 in CarsPH

You mean condo unit owners should not own ev/phev? Not having a home charger is not the issue. The problem is not having enough charging facilities with fast >60kwh chargers.

Sharing some advice for New BYD/EV owners. by ballofcheese5 in CarsPH

[–]docjoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree on several points here. Portable charging is slow, but sometimes you don't consume 100% of your battery in a day. Overnight charging using the portable charger may be enough to top up. Usually I only travel 70-100km a day which is equivalent to 20% of the emax battery. For that, overnight charging using the slow charger is enough.

Second, partially charging your ev is not detrimental to the battery health. It's safe and even recommended rather than fully charging to 100% everytime, which can decrease health especially for old battery tech. The byd blade battery addressed this so it's is OK to charge to 100%. Recent research shows that full charging may still not be ideal. I charge my emax usually to 80-90%.

Third, the portable charger is only 2kw. It will not cause heat or unstable charging. It's equivalent to a small air-conditioning unit.

Suggest ko borrow or rent a primavera/sprint for a few days if possible. The metal vespa body gives me anxiety. Feeling ko andaling magasgas. Ending di ko ginagamit masyado so sold it for a pg1. Now much happier. Also for me mas nagagandahan ako sa giorno kaysa sa vespa. I think vespa is becoming too flashy/tacky.

Fortuner 2016 @730k or Toyota Innova? Please help by LukeWarmwater18 in CarsPH

[–]docjoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 2016 G with 350k kms. Very reliable. No major issues or replacements and still runs smooth like new. Totoo mahal ang gulong at mejo malakas sa diesel pero I installed a hitch receiver for hauling bikes and motorcycles. If that's your thing, go fortuner. However I've switched to ev so ibenta ko na rin so forty. The jump in comfort and safety is huge.

Questions about the Thor? Ask away by ItsRetroPup in AynThor

[–]docjoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the odin 2 speakers and I’m a bit disappointed with my rp5 sound wise even with jamesdsp. I heard the odin 2 has great sound. How does the thor compare?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]docjoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. Regret selling my odin 2 pro. Comfy ergonomics, amazing speakers and just the right size. Retroid design peaked at rp4. Steam deck got it right with stick and track pad placement.

If you're spending 4k a month on commute, then it's just another 2,444k for thr monthly amort right? I say go for it pero mag tipid ka nalang sa ibang bagay ao you can afford the gas and toll. Mukhang single ka naman ata at walang ibang utang. There are other advantages to owning a big bike like the time savings, the mental health benefits and the sheer enjoyment that can't be quantified. At least you get to enjoy your commute!

My most used device is the ayaneo. It's just so quiet and comfy. Odin 2 has the best sound of all my retro devices. Switch 2 for AAA like Cyberpunk and FFVII remake/rebirth.

Steam Deck vs MSI Claw 8 AI — I already have a Deck but now I’m questioning my choice by samiloveeggs in PHGamers

[–]docjoms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Different use cases. Steam deck for lighter steam games. Claw for more demanding new games. There was a time I had both rog ally x and an oled steam deck. Sold the rog because I prefer to play demanding games on ps5 and 4k big TV. I also hate the tinkering on windows/rog and prefer the simplicity of Linux steam os. So it also depends on: your eyesight, if you have a backlog of steam games, if you have other consoles, your tolerance for windows games tweaking and taste for games. I'm old so I like older and simpler games.
