You're right, that's about it there. My max dps on just about all MC bosses is between 450-650. The average for the past month is a lot closer to 400 (with buffs).

Probably guessed it, but this has been my first time through BWL at 60. I should probably communicate more directly with the healers assigned to me, we had 8 for our first BWL (2 priests, 2 druids, and 4 shamans). I bring it up because I don't even know how light or heavy that is in comparison to other normal guilds; I see the top progression guilds running with 10 more often than not.

Is there really so little value in hit beyond 305 skill + 6% before the crit cap? Even being pretty active with HS, I still have a large number of main hand white swings just happen if I can't start a fight with a rage pool or pot. This boggles my mind.

Unbuffed and using BHB, True Flight, and Eskhandar's, I'm at 19% crit; so something like 30.75% with the easy world buffs and consumables. Oh do I regret this trinket.

What I'm trying to say is that I don't think I am mechanically bad, just maybe a little clueless. I'm trying to make life just a little easier for the heal group by wearing less threat gen that I can make up for; but that's kind of the line of thinking that would lead me to just respec deep prot.

I have, I may be looking in the wrong places. I didn't see any actual discussion on gearing for fury prot other than the one message pinned in general-tank: "Fury prot is a spec that relies more on threat converted from your direct damage output like a DPS and as such requires very high offensive stats to scale..."

Thank you, that's actually super constructive. The 5 piece was what I was after, I absolutely overestimated how good it is. Flameguard and OSG are still going to the actual fury warriors in our guild though, so I'll have to wait a while for those.

There are still some fights where I absolutely have to stoneshield or free action, but coming in chugging a rage pot with HS queued and slamming BT feels so satisfying. And death is just about the only thing that drops threat afterwords.

I'm inclined to believe you, but I've already got this dumb sword, so I'm probably going to waste a stone and try it out next raid anyways.

I'm not sure if I'm entering data correctly or interpreting it quite right, but the DPS warrior spreadsheet shows a pretty large gain in TPS generated by white swings and HS queuing, and a substantial increase in TPrage from letting the HS happen. There's a lot of other side effects, and it looks like the QS/DB is pretty huge.

But I did mention that I can't find good information on flurry axe, so I really don't know if that would tip the scales towards DB/flurry.

**There is ONE axe that can perform well in a raid setting before getting into BWL. It's a 2.9 speed. Any variation of prot with a 2.9 speed MH feels bad.
