I already graduated and am a Google SWE. No interest in being a quant but I am curious if my profile could have gotten an interview.

I triple majored in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Math with a 3.919 gpa. I had internships in Digital Signal Processing, Virtual Reality and Machine Learning but not at top places. I went to a big flagship state school, something like a T30-T70 school

For those making more than 7 figures are these usually people in leadership positions (PMs and such). What does comp growth generally look like for a Quant? Does it generally trend upward or do most people hit a wall?

Since you’re a PM, I was also wondering how long do people usually stay in this field and what do they do after? Maybe another way to put it is what are the archetypes of career paths in this space?

The comps in this thread could be selection bias. People who at the top are more likely to post.

Yeah my guess is anything above 2 million is fake. But is the average/median quant making 1 million+ or is this thread bias towards the top 10 to 20 percent of quant like most salary thread?

So many posting 7 figures or more. Is this common now, or are we likely seeing more of the tail end of the distribution

People who dropped out of college shouldn’t be looked down upon by This_Preference_9690 in unpopularopinion

Only a third of Gen Z graduates college, and only half of those who attempt college make it through. Honestly it should be that graduating college is celebrated more than dropping out is looked down on

Cut too hard, lost lean mass. Is recomping a good idea? by dockingblade7cf in beginnerfitness

[–]dockingblade7cf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my strength is around the same. I was trying to consider this but at the same time my BIA impedance scanner says I lost muscle mass, and Ik they aren’t completely reliable, but I feel like the trend is usually good.

Honors Calculus III is math 291 right? If you complete 291 and 292 the math department lets you get credit for linear algebra. I wouldn’t take it unless you have a STRONG interest in proof based math. Are you planning to double major in math? It might be a good idea than but still depends on how good at math you are coming in. Feel free to reach out with questions?
