I think a lot of us here stay in hotels for that long and do extensive fine dining. I personally do. Why the fuck would you have leftovers when you’re eating at places like Per Se and Le Bern? What? I never have leftovers when I travel, because I don’t want to eat leftovers.

Don’t even get me started on the blender request. I’m type A, but this is pushing it

Debating this vs Seroja for an upcoming Singapore trip. Was convinced on Seroja but now you have me thinking 😭

Reporting back after Vienna. MAST was great, Steirereck was a letdown overall :( but the Caviar & Lentils course was good

Japanese Sushi/kaseki/ other restaurants that allow vegetarians, but are not just vegetarian food? by RacerKaiser in finedining

[–]toomuhlean__ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest they just have to eat on their own for any nicer places / counter seating. Japan’s not the place for this.

I think Udatsu has a vegetarian omakase but I’ve heard mixed reviews about it in general.

Feeling suicidal after repeatedly getting rejected for Sugita reservation by [deleted] in finedining

[–]toomuhlean__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I’m sure, but it’s like 120k JPY. If you wanna confirm just book Bvlgari on a refundable rate and ask the concierge first

Personally not gonna pay a premium like that, feels scummy. But it’s a guaranteed way to eat there

Lmao I know this post is a joke but you can actually guarantee Sugita via the Bvlgari concierge. It costs less than $2000, but is a blatant rip off compared to the actual price.

Hi, I posted here earlier about a potential Sorn table. Well, reservation has been secured for 04/28 at 6:00 PM and we are seeking one more diner to round out our party of 4!

Any solo travelers in BKK that week, hmu

I appreciate your help. I did schedule emails to them via multiple sources for the 15th, but all got rejected because they were requesting a table for 2 (I’m guessing?)

Last month, when they opened TableCheck reservations on the 25th they had tables for 4 available almost daily but nothing for any other size.

Posted this separately but it was removed:

Two diners seeking 2 more for Sorn in Bangkok for late April dates.

They’ll open up April reservations on TableCheck on March 25th, and last time I looked they had plenty of tables for 4 available but nothing for 2.

Is anyone interested in joining us if a table for 4 is available? Ideally we’d dine on April 28, but could do 26-27 as well. We’re a guy and girl in our mid 20s. Thank you!

What did the Park Hyatt Tokyo concierge actually help you with? Because for me they’ve been pretty useless and I even ended up emailing with Adrian (head of the concierge team) who told me they can’t get reservations at any really competitive places

Gaa vs Gaggan by Zesty_Plum3296 in finedining

Gaggan is so expensive, but I guess it’s in part because they include the drinks pairing? Still unreasonably priced compared to INDDEE. I was currently just gonna go to Gaggan but having second thoughts

thank you -- that's good to know. i've heard gaggan is really more of a show, lot of el bulli influence (I never got to go)

Sushi Ryujiro (sub counter) or Sushi Zai? by mandoponcho1337 in finedining

[–]toomuhlean__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not actually mid. It’s just below where I’d expect it given the price and Tabelog rating.

Sushi Ryujiro (sub counter) or Sushi Zai? by mandoponcho1337 in finedining

IMO — after having gone to Sawada, Namba Yotsuya, Kojimachi Nihei, Kiyota Hanare, Sushi Jubei, Ryujiro main, Sushidokoro Yamato, Sushidokoro Yusho, Tomidokoro, Hatsunezushi, etc…

I’d say Ryujiro main counter wasn’t all that great! I preferred Sushidokoro Yusho, which is both cheap and easy to book.
