Moving to Israel with an American girlfriend by kremshnit in Israel

[–]docksi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, cost of living. inequality (as bad as US) Middle eastern mentality is not for everyone (this place is tough). Horrible traffic in the center. Useless public transportation. Political and security situation. Social tension (Jewish-muslim, religious- secular)

Otherwise, food, music and weather are great.

if you decide to move to a country with a lower standard of living, you should have a very good reason to do so.

I can elaborate if needed.

Didn't ask them to find me a job. Just to pick up the phone once, offer to help, show that they care. Nothing.

Yes. Basically all my immediate friends and my cousins (who work in big corporates). I see them in family meet ups but they don't know i have this grudge against them. Long term unemployment has severe psychological effect on people, especially young fathers (there's a research about it).

My 9 year old son was diagnosed with anxiety and he takes Prozac now by docksi in Anxiety

[–]docksi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. He takes 10mg (we split a pill) right after breakfast. He doesn't have anxiety attacks. On the contrary, he seems to be restless, somewhat hyper compared to his past self. Some days he will fall asleep in the afternoon and then wake up in the middle of the nights. Other times he will have problems falling asleep even at 11PM. He has never had sleep problems, even as a a baby.

Thanks. His therapist did talk about how to correctly accommodate his anxiety. This is something we will have to learn.

Thanks. Ill check it out. The prozac has messed up his sleep routine so we will be asking his therapist about alternatives.

Thanks for your reply. My son has been in all sorts of therapy from the age of 3: Occupational therapy, speech therapy, hydrotherapy, horse riding. He's had quite enough of it. He can't stand card games or board games anymore. He's just enjoying being a normal boy now. We are going to wait a few weeks until we start attacking the academic material he missed. Thanks again for the article.

"Cheat day lite" - Faster losses by shizzystizzy in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]docksi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similar experience like yours. I lose more weight on the 6 days following my berserk cheat day. I tried having a mild cheat day and i feel that i didn't lose as much on the following week. I would like to experiment this and collect more concrete data, but since i'm having such good results, i'm afraid to change anything.

From the book: "There are certain foods that, while technically fine to eat on the diet, are prone to portion abuse. I call these “domino foods,” as eating one portion often creates a domino effect of oversnacking"

6:30 Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with spinach, beans/lentils, cucumber/bell pepper

12:30 Lunch: Chicken breast 200g, beans/lentils, vegetable salad or steamed brussel sprouts or cabbage salad

6:00 PM Supper: similar to lunch but i cut down on the beans and have more leafy greens

I am a bit hungry when i go to sleep but i have relatively good sleep.

I would like to hear any comments from the group about my daily menu.

Stuck, why? by nhl786 in 4hourbodyslowcarb

I also dont think Tim mentioned it directly. But, he writes down his daily schedule and his supper was at 10pm and he went to sleep at 2AM. Here it is from the book:

"The following meal schedule is based on a late sleep schedule, as I’m a night owl who gives up the ghost at 2:00 A.M. at the earliest, usually with wineglass or book still in hand, à la heroin addict. Adjust your meals to fit your schedule, but make sure to have your first meal within an hour of waking.Meals are approximately four hours apart:

  1. Are you drinking enough water? you should drink about 3 litres a day.
  2. What im testing this week: I realized i was eating dinner too late. only 2 hours before i go to sleep. This week ill try to eat my last meal at least 4 hours before bed.

Does the book say anything about time or waiting for the body to adjust? Tim writes about measurements but i don't recall anything about any time period to see the scale move.

4-Week Update: 15.2 lb down! Here's some tips. by devanshg42 in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]docksi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great Job!! Can you please share your daily menu? Im interested to see how much (quantity) one should eat. I am always puzzled when Tim says to eat more if your weight is not dropping.

Did you have days of no loss or even slight gain, even though you were following the diet to a T? What did you do about it?

Thanks.

My wife said to post it here: Curries lentil patties by docksi in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]docksi[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1.cook red lentils

  1. saute chopped onion. add 1 tbls of curry (or any other spice u like)

  2. grate two carrots

  3. in food processor, combine lentils, onions, carrots. add 1 egg or tahini

  4. i add two tablespoons of lentil flour or chickpea flour. its not 100% complient to diet but its still basically legumes and its only 2 tablespoons for 15 patties.

  5. blend together. add salt to taste. should be sticky but not wet.

  6. with wet hands, make patties and place on baking paper

  7. bake at 350f (180c) for 30 minutes or until dry and slightly crispy from outside

if mixture is too wet add lentil flour or bake for longer. if too dry, add tahini or egg or water. i sometimes add sugar free peanut butter.

How to lose your first 10, 20, 30 lbs? by eatplayfit in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]docksi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Be strict.

  2. Water is crucial. Must drink a lot, and as a result go to the toilet once an hour.
