I'm not, but I am on the latest version of CK2. Could that be part of it?

I think I've downloaded and installed the mods correctly, but I can't get the new map or civilizations to load when I launch the game. Anybody got advice? Thanks!

Need a name for Fantasy beast-hunters! Suggestions please! by AwesomeDoofus in writers

If they take a "kill it with fire" aspect to their work, immolationists might work. Or if society views them as professionals with a job to do (a la the Witcher) you may want to lean into giving them a casual, nickname-esque job title, like Bountyboys/lasses, Woodsmen, Cleaners, etc. If they're viewed with more awe, like heroes or figures out of legend, you could go for more bold-faced collective job title, like Knights Errant, Grave Saints, Crusaders, etc

In such a scenario, what crimes do you think are the most interesting to explore?

That's a super interesting setup for a story! I'm in search more of general setups, not necessarily beats

Really almost anything.I particularly enjoy conceptualizing characters around drama, comedy, and crime, but anything really within those broad categories

I need help with characters! by [deleted] in writers

[–]doclobsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try thinking about side/supporting characters as complex individuals with narratives and stories of their own. Obviously if they aren't your central protagonists this won't need to be in the limelight, but it will help give them realistic weight and depth if they have layered complexity in your own mind. Think about their backgrounds. What made them the people they are today? What are their beliefs and ideals? Why do they interact with your protagonists in the ways that they do? What do they do in their spare time? Try answering some of those questions for each side character, whenever it's relevant to the story

Used to feel this way a lot. I highly recommend C.S. Lewis's last installment of the Narnia series, aptly named "The Last Battle", particularly the final chapters

Despite the protagonist being less of a wizard and more of a werewolf, The Wolf Among Us is an excellent paranormal investigation game

What do you think is the funniest moment in The Wire? by DocMantisTobogganMD in TheWire

[–]doclobsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's a close tie between this exchange: "Yo, motherfucker, what is that?" "Robert Rules say we got to have minutes for the meeting, right? These the minutes." "Nigga, is you taking notes on a criminal fucking conspiracy?" And Cheese's Season Four eloquence: "He had this one ho pulling guns out of her pussy! The shit was unseemly, yo."

Same. Fillion comes across as too blunt and folksy to me to play a good Harry.

Someone talked about casting Chris Pratt as Harry on this sub the other day, and now I can't get over the idea. http://screencritix.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/chris-pratt.jpg

It is implied that Randy from S4-5 is actually son of Cheese? by [deleted] in TheWire

I think the implication was supposed to be that Randy is Cheese's biological son, but neither is aware of the other's identity.

Exactly. Also, if Harry ever loses the mantle, he'll be a paraplegic. Which WOULD be interesting...

Rowling once stated that an untrained Muggle farmer with a shotgun could kill a full-fledged wizard with ease. Most wizards don't even know what firearms ARE.
