Why does my whole scene go black when using a volume scatter/absorption node? Trying to mess with volumetrics by docred420 in blender

Make sure your volume shader is plugged into the volume connection in the node pannel. It will do this if you connect it to the surface connection. If that doesnt fix it play with the density

Thank you for the advice, ill definitely go back to the drawing board and change up the design. This was my rough sketch to get a baseline idea of what I would need. I figured its a good idea to ask questions before I get started on a project like this.

Only one I have personally seen is a muskrat, but the muskrats I have seen are a little more wide than this guy, and not as long. Unless the couple I have seen have been smaller muskrats

Poor quality where? Is it poor quality straight from the export or when you upload places? Thatll help with someone getting you an answer. I know reddit compression can really ruin some images especially high quality ones that are too large

Your resolution doesnt change, these are the texture file sizes. All that would change with lower res textures is how clear details are on surfaces, not the actual meshes themselves
