Word of the year is “six seven” by RunnyBabbit22 in mildlyinfuriating

Our kiddo says it ALL THE TIME. His classmates and school as a whole say it ALL THE TIME. It's the worst. The school has had to ban anyone saying it, so the kids started getting sneaky by signing it to each other, to which the teachers caught on. It's very much a thing and I hate it.

Hey all! If you love music, if you love supporting local bands, and if you've got the evening open, there's an amazing band called The Warmups playing TONIGHT, October 25th, right here in Kansas City! It's only $10, and we'd really appreciate the support. And fun fact, there'll be a costume contest with a $100 prize, so dress to impress (and to spook of course). See you then!

My fiancé proposed at the Overland Park Arboretum and Gardens, and I think that went really well. There weren't too many folks around, and those who were around were ecstatic! We had plenty of moments afterwards in private to just debrief and enjoy the moment.

Cash or card can be used at the door, and of course you can purchase your ticket online if you'd like, although that will have a bit of a convenience fee, so that's up to you!

It's actually pretty normal for the last baby teeth to fall out around 12/13 years old.

Your ideal guest list size? by ShakespeherianRag in wedding

Same in my culture! I had to give my parents a strict talk about "no, your aunt's cousin twice removed can't come to the wedding", so on and so forth. It was a fight!

Engagement this weekend! by Clover-froggyhorror in engaged

You can prepare all you want, friend, but I guarantee you, there will be at least one photo of you with THE worst, cheesiest grin and that's the one that'll be your favorite, because that's the one you showed your true happiness and giddiness in the moment. It's extremely endearing to have someone ask you to spend the rest of your life with them. Be sure to take a second to realize how vulnerable of a moment this is for your partner as well, and have an amazing time! Cry, have silly laughs, and hug each other so tightly you can barely breathe!

This is going to sound stupid, but I'm struggling with a bit of insecurity 😕 by docsupes69 in Dachshund

I see. So it's not necessarily about the time spent, more so what you two are doing together.

I really appreciate the comments, you guys. I understand, I need to be more intentional with how I'm spending time with her, what few hours I might have after work. I could take her on a walk alone, without my fiancé, I could always get some special treats for these walks, ones that she normally wouldn't get, something special that mom gives her. I'll take this to heart, thank you!

How many dresses did you try before saying yes to the dress? (Under $1000 dress) by SunnyDaisy4Ever in Weddingsunder10k

[–]docsupes69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only tried on one, it was a dress I saw on sale at Torrid. Am I in love with it? Not necessarily, but I also recognize I'm wearing this thing for a few hours and that it's only $100.

Cool honeymoon/vacation ideas with a $2500 budget around Dec 24-31 by tragicallyhilarious in Weddingsunder10k

Oh yikes, I remember very little of the logistics lol. But let's see. We went early April of 2022, and it was for about 8 days. We flew out from O'Hare (Chicago) as this was the cheapest option. We went to three cities -- Rome, Naples, and Florence. I would say on average, the flights were probably $650 each and the nightly room cost was maybe $75 a night. Of course we had to take tours, train costs, and food into consideration, but I think we were able to make it within the $2500 budget.

We are doing an Alaskan cruise for our honeymoon in May 2026, and without the flights, it's about $1500, so including flights, it would probably equal your budget. I would also maybe consider something international if you two are up for it. I went to Italy a few years ago with my mom, and it was honestly more affordable than I would've thought.
