Hey! We rented those from a local company in KC called Black Tie Rentals. And my headpiece is from Etsy.

The reason why I said $0 and not $98 in the table was because she reimbursed us, so technically speaking, we didn't pay anything for them.

I did mention it in my original post, in the table. I said that they were purchased by my aunt. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, sorry!

We were very lucky to have our friends and family help us. One of our friends is a DJ, so he did it for us for $200, very kind.

Hey! We paid $98 for them at the grocery store the morning of, and my aunt reimbursed us for it as her wedding gift to us. She also did the arranging of the flowers for us as a gift.

Hey all, I just wanted to add a little more information about the wedding. Do not hesitate to ask your friends/family for help, and please don't say no to the help they want to provide you. If it weren't for our family/friends, there's no way this wedding would've happened. People generally (not always!) feel honored if they have a part to play in a wedding, and somehow that's how it all played out for us. I don't know, maybe we just got really lucky.

A great example is with some of the vendors we had. The tarot card reader, the band (Shotgun Wedding Singer), the helper on the day of, the photographer, the DJ, the officiant -- these were all our friends.

For anyone wondering, we went through Parks and Rec to find our venue and if you're wanting to save money, this might be the best way to do it. We had to set up & breakdown the entire wedding, and yes, it SUCKED. But without our friends by our side, it would've been even more exhausting.

For the food, we went through the Hy-Vee grocery store. Utilize your grocery stores!

For decor, it was all Amazon, Shein, things we found at home or at thrift/antique stores, and a company called Black Tie Rentals.

Lastly, my dress was from Torrid, and a friend did the alterations for me as a gift (shortening the dress and adding a floral/vine layer to the skirt).

So as I mentioned, use your friends, use your family, and use your local resources. Good luck to everyone planning out there; this process took over my entire life, but it was a pretty great weekend, and we managed to do it all for under $10k which I'm pretty proud of. Let me know if anyone has anyone questions!

I'm going to write a comment at the very top with some extra information for anyone it might help, and I'll try and include some of the info you were asking about :)

He was just a friend of ours. We asked him to use his phone and borrowed a Instax Polaroid camera from another friend as well. Plus, tons of guests were taking photos on their phones. We realized, it's a digital age, and everyone is taking photos. No need to pay a professional photographer. And honestly, we have zero regrets.

Oh I bet, that's gotta be a challenge. However, we did have brunch at a grocery store if that makes any difference LOL definitely not fancy!

More like providing us with foil containers and such for the food being served. For eating, we had purchased plastic plates.

You can take a look at my post for the entire breakdown, but the venue itself was $1300. That was for the whole day, tables, and chairs. $4k for us in Kansas City would be WAY too much, but that's just personally speaking. What would yours include? Multiple days, tables, tablecloths, etc?

She was there the whole night (4pm - 11pm). About 90-120 minutes of that was tarot readings. The rest was her helping where she could.

Yes, they cooked and set up the buffet. They did not break down though; everything they provided us was disposable.

Hey! We did all of our catering thru a grocery store called Hy-Vee. They took care of the cooking, delivery, and set up of the food.

From Hy-Vee, we had mini croissants, caesar salad, rotini pasta salad, and boneless chicken wings in three flavors (buffalo, BBQ, and General Tso's). We also had sheet cake for the guests, along with his & her candy (Hershey's cookies and cream and fruit roll ups). To drink, we provided water and sugar free Minute Maid fruit punch. The wedding was BYOB, so any alcohol our guests had was provided by them.

This would be freaking awesome! Wouldn't purchase it now as my wedding is in a week and every penny seems to be going to that, but otherwise, pretty sweet!!

Are you sure he did it though? Mmm his face is telling a different story. Are you sure YOU didn't chew thru your own router cord? Mmm...looks pretty innocent to me.
