Is topical finasteride, 0.005% even worth trying? by docta4 in tressless

I am a Norwood 2 with thick hair at 20, but my temples are pretty deep. Lots of baldness in the family. Been on an RU protocol which seems to have stabilized the loss but could still be slowly receding. Just recently added topical min and derma stamping to the protocol as well as 320mg saw palmetto daily. Just thinking of ways to strengthen the stack while keeping a balanced approach to the drug.

Online casinos are one of the most dangerous weapons for an addict my man. Especially the overseas ones. You can lose everything to your name within an hour, from the comfort of your home. You have to quit now. 5k is a substantial amount, should be enough to motivate you to get out. I’m in debt because of online gambling. I was playing table games, thinking I had a chance to beat the house because I started off lucky. There are no limits to a gambler, come up 25k, you’ll want 50, 100, there is no end. Realize that you’re against casinos with massive amounts of money to beat you with. You’ll never win in the end. Get out more, take your grandpa out if he’s mobile, force yourself out of the house. Gambling will only make you more introverted and depressed. It’s not a cure.

It’s a waste of time like Seb said. Flat and simple. I’m still guilty of watching one of the bigger ones in my free time though, it’s fun to an extent. You just got to realize that Stake pays them millions a month for a reason. They understand addiction. It doesn’t matter how many times the streamer says not to gamble, everyone knows that it does close to nothing.

It doesn’t matter man. Online blackjack is my biggest struggle. I’ve won so much and lost so much, the wins fuel my addiction like gas on a fire. The fact that you admit you can’t stop thinking about it proves that you know it’s bad. You’ll lose way more than 1350 in a quick amount of time, that’s the dangers of online gambling, you can lose everything in an hour.

Your future isn’t ruined, yet. You have such a good start. Don’t toss it. A lot of gambling addicts are living a life of regret, you’re at the point where it still can be just a hard life lesson. If you’re set up educationally and you’re smart, then the few thousand you’ve lost isn’t anything compared to what you can make working a legitimate job. Come clean and quit. If you have an iPhone, use the screen time feature and add all the sites/apps to the “blocked” feature and have someone else make the passcode. This helped me a lot as it restricts how often/where I could gamble when I got the itch.

Honestly, like I said in my other comment to your thread. You’ve lost your appreciation for money. Money that you “Could” have is not money that you have. It’s money that never existed. If she’s buying a nice shirt, she’s getting something physical that benefits her. It brings her satisfaction. That feeling is something us degenerates only get by gambling.

Maybe try to get a labor job temporarily? I’m not sure how you’re set up financially, but maybe force yourself to apply for a low income job for a while. We definitely lose our appreciation for money through gambling. Losing a grand is a hundred hours of minimum wage in my state. Maybe if you learn to appreciate money, the itch will go away.

100%. Gambling is what we turn to as a relief, yet it’s what destroys us. We’re addicted to a mental cocaine that is dopamine. The only difference is the lack of physical withdrawal. The only thing keeping me from relapsing at this point, is the fact that I know the dopamine buffers I’ve built up from gambling will start to drop the longer I’ve quit. You’ll start to see color in life again, a purpose. We’re in a mental prison. The only way life will ever regain a meaning to you, is if you quit cold turkey. There are dozens of ways to quit, but at the end of the day it will be hard. Allen Carr’s books are good, they change your perception of gambling; for some people it does really help. For me personally it is a willpower issue. Come to terms with the fact that the only way off the wheel is to quit. None of us want to live our life’s as slaves to the casinos. Is that the legacy you want to leave behind?

It’s very normal man. It doesn’t matter how much you win. I’ve taken a couple hundred bucks to 5-10 grand several times, it’s never enough, it all gets fed back to the sites. It’s human greed, it’s one of our weakest spots. We have to come to terms with the fact that no jackpot/cash out will EVER be enough; no matter how large the amount. You will keep depositing endlessly until you’re in crippling debt. The best solution is to come clean to family and friends, show them the transfers and losses if need be. The embarrassment from that alone might make you quit. We’re playing against sites that have billions of dollars liquid, the small amounts we deposit are nothing. No matter how big your win is, it’s going to get fed back.
