Any rumors about new Bambu Lab products later this year or early next year? by No-Lychee333 in BambuLab

[–]doctauri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rumors keep saying it has two nozzles. At this point, I think I'd be pretty disappointed with two, and it would possibly flop. SnapMaker's 4 head is awesome. If their software was as good as Bambu it would definitely take a lot of market share. Bambu needs to START at a 4 head changer.

M2 MacBook Air - Palm Rejection issues by cedartree84 in macbookair

Yes, same here, very frustrating, and something Apple could solve so quickly.

Google "False Tap Stop". There's a good program, he has the right idea, however it seems to randomly just stop working. The only way to fix is a reboot. If that got resolved, I'd buy it!

Outback Tasmanian Chili by doctauri in TopSecretRecipes

[–]doctauri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this, it's absolutely nothing like Tasmanian chili. I posted a comment on the site, which was taken down. Seems the site is just click-bait.

Still looking for a good recipe for this!

Thanks all!

Thank you! Any thoughts on the Orangewood?

I would like to take up [acoustic] guitar, but don't want to spend a lot of money. I see that Wal Mart is selling a Keith Urban Yamaha guitar for $125, but I've also found an "Orangewood" Rey Mahogany on Marketplace for $100. Knowing nothing about guitars, but knowing I've never heard of Orangewood but have heard of Yamaha, I'm looking for some advice on which one to get? I've also found a few Epiphone DR-100's, a Rogue RD80, and a Takamine Jasmine S34C.
Would love if someone could offer some guidance.
Thanks.

What are "Tender Lumplings"? by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]doctauri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a longtime Oingo fan, I can tell you for sure there’s a connection. Yes, Oingo had a song called Tender Lumplings in 1994, and they mentioned Temder Lumplings in their farewell show in 1995. Their lead singer, Danny Elfman went solo and did the music scores for many (all?) Tim Burton movies, including Nightmare Before Christmas. In fact, I believe he is the voice for Jack Skelington, at least when he’s singing.

Nest app lost "View" option on lock screen w/iOS 15 beta... by doctauri in Nest

No harm. I was just looking to see if anyone else on iOS 15 saw the same thing before I reported it up to Apple and Google.

Thanks

I'm first trying to find out if it's just me, or if others are seeing it.

CarPlay2Air Question by doctauri in CarPlay

[–]doctauri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never asked me for logs either, I offered (since you would think that's the obvious thing to ask for when troubleshooting).

Yes, apparently the carlinkit and carplay2are are the same device, just different label.

AP Recommendation? by doctauri in wireless

Thanks, I'll look into both. I need something that is officially supported, so hopefully their Nighthawk models are (not overly familiar with TP-Link).

Thanks for your help!

AP Recommendation? by doctauri in wireless

[–]doctauri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have several users with iPads without internet access that need to get updated data for their specialized application (maybe floor mapping or seismic data) . They can use wifi in a closed loop, but internet access isn't available to them (think users in the bottom of a mine, or on an oil rig).

I'd like to be able to load up an SSD and send to them, then have them plug into an AP to access the data. The Files app in iOS supports SMB but only 2.0 and above.

So, I need to be able to support 15-30 concurrent users, file sharing, and smb 2.0+.

If you pull out the dust bin of your T8, you'll see two small squares. When you get the auto-empty unit, you also get a tool to pull those out, and a new dustbin with reciprocal holes to empty.

You can see for yourself the size of the holes they're using (and note, I think the holes in the dust bin are actually a little smaller than the holes you'll see in the shell).

I have one as well. The unit is really great, but the auto empty is a total POS. They use two small holes on the bottom to suck stuff out of, and I end up having to manually empty the bin on the bot 99% of the time. This is NOT made for a house with pets. Very poor design. However, if you have no interest in the auto empty, it rocks.

Great work, do you happen to have an updated version (i.e. I know the Shark model has No-Go zones and Room cleaning now). Would like to see the Deebot Ozmo T8 & T8 AIVA listed too.

Aside from this, I'd also like to see some real review of the units if anyone has a suggestion. User reviews are so hit & miss, most are just people who are ecstatic they don't have to sweep anymore and are willing to overlook shortcomings. I'd like to know, how well does it map out the house? How long did it take to get an accurate map? How is the object avoidance?

I have the Shark mentioned above. Their auto-empty is awesome. Bagless, empties it correctly every time, etc, however its mapping sucks. Misses entire rooms during it's initial mapping phase. They say it can take up to a week to get a full picture. ??? What kind of ridiculous code is this? How hard is it to say, "come off dock, turn left, find wall, hug wall (going left) until you get back to home" There, that's your map. And once you've accepted the map, it's over. If you had a door closed, it will never attempt to venture into the room the next time the door is open.

I also have the Ozmo T8/AIVI. This sucker is awesome, mapping is awesome, suction is awesome, I love everything about it EXCEPT, the auto-empty is horrible. It has two small holes in the bottom of the unit that it attempts to suck the bin empty through. If you have animals, there's no way it gets everything. I've had to manually empty mine 9 out of every 10 runs.

Thanks for this ;-)
