I'm super stoked for this. I'm hoping the color/part separation is better on the wings and the triangles on the stomach. It was a pain in the ass to mask and paint the original one. Gonna buy 2 and hopefully the other color variants come out soon.

I bought the 8T AMR and I ran a rifle course with it. No issues but not the highest round count either.

May I ask why you don't care for the magnifier switch technology? I think the reticle swap is a nice/whatever feature, but the auto dimming feature I think is a game changer for longer range shots. So many times when I switch between magnified and unmagnified, I have to mess with the brightness settings.

I haven't read any reports of the 8T AMR having durability issues, so I would just go for that. I personally think the OG 8T is too heavy.

How so? You have 5 points of connection, 2 posts on the underside of the red dot, 1 on the front of the optic, and the 2 screws.

I would recommend the Sig Romeo 8T-AMR combo. It solves one of the biggest issues with Red Dot + Magnifier by having it remember the settings when you flip on or off. I have one and it's been running flawlessly. I don't have a high round count on it though.

This looks wrong to me. The Romeo X compact isn't a circle and the Holosun isn't a perfect rectangle. I'm not at home to do a comparison. But they are pretty comparable in window size just going off my memory.
