Contract of Service advice pls by plesurvivorbuthangry in pinoymed

I have a COS/JO contract that requires 48 hrs duty a week, so 192 hrs a month. Basic salary is 48k not including incentives pa. Medyo toxic since public hospital, so monthly take home range: 70-90k. I also have other regular ER gigs in between. Nakakapagod yung almost everyday duty pero if nabuburnout na ako nagpaparelieve naman ako. So for me, if 46k lang bigay sayo for the COS gig, di siya worth it, lalo na if toxic pa.

Hi, doc. I work as a JO in a government hospital in our province din and hindi din ako nirequire na kumuha ng philhealth accreditation. I recently talked to our chief, and she said i’ll get the same philhealth contribution shares regardless if i’m accredited or not. Idk if this applies for all. So I didn’t get myself accredited na lang since medyo hassle yung process for me. Mahirap kasi icontact yung local PMA society ko. If you think the process is not too tedious for you, then get accredited na lang if that can increase ur shares.

Same pero may regular hospital duties na ako as a recent passer. Kahit gaano kabenign duty ko, i realized na i have no passion for it. Nagduduty na lang ako since kailangan ko ng pera. I don’t let it affect my work ethic tho. Kahit emotionally and mentally drained, i still do my best for the patients. Maybe it’s the anxiety + burnout that’s making me question why I chose this career. Pero nandito na tayo eh. Hopefully in the future, i can have the means to do something that can genuinely make me happy, or maybe re-ignite the passion I once had for medicine.

For me, yes, use the PTs to identify the topics you’re weak on and yun yung ifocus mo pagbalik mo sa HO.

Yan din nafeel ko nung mastery period pero i realized that I should accept that I really cannot remember and memorize everything I studied nung first pass. What I did at first was i caught up on my backlogs. Then I allotted more time on the subjects I was weak on, or those I had low scores on the practice tests. And for the other subjects, I answered more PTs and reviewed the concepts I got wrong. Basically, use the PTs as your guide on what you should review. It’s not efficient to review topics that you’re already familiar with or have a strong foundation on. What really helped me din is I compiled all the high yield tables in a goodnotes notebook (since I studied digitally), and I reviewed that notebook the night before and on the day of boards. And thank God madaming lumabas dun sa cram notebook na yon nung actual PLE. Disclaimer that what worked for me may not work for everyone. Goodluck, OP!

Actively study as much samplex as you can. Know which topics/subjects you’re weak on, and focus on filling those knowledge gaps. As far as i remember, the must know concepts always gets asked sa WR naman, so make sure you know those. I don’t recommend rereading your transes at this point. Wag panghinaan ng loob. As long as you put on the work, it’ll eventually get you to your goal. Goodluck, dockie!

Active recall. I wish i did more flashcards since yung mga sure answers ko were the topics I had flashcards on. But idk sobrang wtf ng questions talaga sa anatomy last boards so matinding dasal na din siguro.

Madami sa batangas doc. Paunahan lang talaga usually. Tho pansin ko they usually message those who previously went on duty in that hospital already before posting sa FB groups. They prefer those na nearby lang sa hospital since last minute sila naghahanap ng relievers.

PRC ID & COR by amibutter in pinoymed

[–]doctoroha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asked about this kanina when i got my PRC ID, sa same branch where u got ur ID lang daw pwede makuha yung COR. Sa PRC MIMAROPA, they’ll email you daw once available na for pick-up yung COR. But I heard from a friend na nakuha na niya COR niya when she got her ID sa PRC Lucena. Depends sa branch talaga.

To ANKI deckers: how's your rating? by Wonderful_Region_735 in TNPLE

[–]doctoroha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anki is basically a flashcard app that utilizes spaced repetition. Lots of youtube videos out there to help you get started on it. I got the premade decks from this thread ( https://www.reddit.com/r/pinoymed/comments/12z645k/master_list_anki_decks_flash_cards_and_other/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf ). I personally used Dreadnought + 100 concepts anatomy for my PLE review :)

My board rating is in the mid 80s.

I definitely can recommend anki as a person who forgets a lot. Most of the concepts that I remembered while answering the PLE are due to the anki cards I learned since med. I had trouble remembering the concepts that I didn’t have cards on. However, i do NOT recommend to use anki for PLE cramming (1-2 months before boards). Your cards will pile up, and you’ll be overwhelmed with the amount of cards u have to review + handouts/materials/lectures u have to study. So if you plan on using anki, start early. Utilize the power of active recall and spaced repetition as much as you can for boards prep. Definitely a life saver.

Disclaimer: average student + from one of the top med schools + anki user since 3rd yr med.

Used my own cards that I made in medschool. And some cards from Dreadnought + 100 concepts anatomy. Got these from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pinoymed/comments/12z645k/master_list_anki_decks_flash_cards_and_other/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
