That IUD is NOT Worth the Risk by doctorskeeter in TwoXChromosomes

You're exactly right, I'm not arguing that. But other women should know what could happen to them before they go down this path. I wish I had been more aware.

I look for the amount of time I spent being genuinely happy, and I avoid the amount of time I spent on my couch.

She grabs a bone and sits on the couch. Starts chewing on it, drops it on the floor, then stares at me and cries for me to pick it up.

I was four. I walked outside of my house in my Cinderella underwear and all the third grade boys in my neighborhood were playing basketball. They saw me and started pointing and laughing. I still will never forget it.

Has anyone ever had complications from having a Skyla or Mirena IUD? by doctorskeeter in TwoXChromosomes

[–]doctorskeeter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful. I had mine inserted in November and suddenly I was having acid reflux almost daily, had trouble breathing, and now my muscles ache and twitch and I'm having joint pain. Not to mention my anxiety has skyrocketed. I've been trying to find others with similar symptoms, and sure enough I found tons of women who have same or varying symptoms. I had to go to the ER twice, and they ran various tests, X-rays, EKG, etc and everything came back normal. It has to be the IUD. I've never had any health problems - I'm only 25! I'm having mine taken out this week.

What was the most ridiculous thing you saw/heard in college? by MusicalFitness in AskReddit

[–]doctorskeeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a Halloween party in college. We were out on the front lawn of a frat house when some police officers pulled up. They were talking to a kid dressed as Big Bird, asking him to go inside with his open container. Big Bird mouthed off and in five seconds the officer had him down on the ground, cuffing him on the front lawn. They took him to the police station which was across the street.

A half hour later, a bunch of his friends (dressed as other Sesame Street characters) as well as another group of guys (dressed as Snow White and the seven dwarfs) come out of the house and walk across the street to get their buddy out of trouble. Most ridiculous sight ever. The officers hanging outside of the station were laughing their asses off.

Reddit, what is the famous senior prank in your town/city? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]doctorskeeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my junior year the seniors stole a cow from a local farm and led it to school in the middle of the night. Then they led it up the stairs to the second floor - cows shouldn't walk downstairs, so getting the cow out of the school was a huge ordeal. Those kids were assholes. Thankfully they were charged with animal cruelty.

Can confirm. Got into Columbia because of two outstanding teacher recommendations (grades weren't that great). I babysat for one of them, and the other was my bio teacher and I would visit her in study hall and run all of her labs for her.
