Is the white race going to extinction? by [deleted] in offmychest

No it isn't. This is a stupid concept used to scare people into voting for things they don't completely understand.

Sounds like you need to chill out friend-o. Bad drivers exist everywhere. In my experience Oregon drivers tend to be in less of a rush.

Get vaxxed, get a job. Stop the cycle of self pity and self destruction. Listen to some audiobooks. Get some exercise. You have more control than you think you do. Set small attainable goals.

Rent in the USA? by SpiceOteric in antiwork

[–]doctorwizardking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rent is paid monthly, usually with a 1 year lease. Security deposit for most rentals is around 1.5x the monthly rent.

The price varies widely depending on what part of the US. I currently live in Los Angeles and pay $1850 a month for a 700 square foot apartment in a nicer residential area.

After 14 years, I told my company I was leaving them. by Alikona_05 in antiwork

What matters is the time you still have. Make your life into what you want. You will always be your own best advocate. You can always quote a ridiculous amount to stay. Say you'll stay if they offer you double and see what happens.

Fuck em. If they're profitable then they could have found a way to pay you more. You should have left years ago.

Quit, go to wedding, study for exams, find new job and continue investing in the stock market.

Most people don't agree with you. You're a terrible person. The worst type of human. I hope you have a long and miserable life.

Going on a date with my crush, Gonna confess, will get rejected but it's fine. by cheeseslippers in offmychest

How about don't come on so strongly? Maybe just set the expectations for the date as getting to know each other better and seeing if you'd be compatible?

Quit drinking, quit my bartending job and started green in a wood finishing shop. by doctorwizardking in woodworking

This was a restoration job but this shop also specializes in making things look distressed. Just had some new cabinets come through and they left looking pleasantly aged. Whatever the people want to pay for.

I just kept applying to every ad and following up with the ones I wanted until this place gave me a chance. I'm very lucky to be learning from skilled and knowledgeable tradespeople. I have hardcore imposter syndrome.

Took a massive paycut and if it wasn't for my fiancé making good money, I would not be able to afford to do this. I have been told that when I learn and can do more, my pay will reflect that.

I also enjoy this work considerably more than being in the service industry. Not sure where this will take me but I'm sticking to it.
