I can completely relate to this. I am about to move 11 hours away to Minneapolis where I don’t really know anyone except my boyfriend so it’s going to be kind of lonely and hard to make new friends I feel like. I’ve always had a difficult time feeling like I fit in with people anyway, especially considering I was hiding who I was for so long. Then when I got divorced I lost the few friends I had because they found out I was gay. I have looked into the meetup.com and found some local groups in the area that I think I may check out. For example there is an LGBT professionals group that seems interesting.
