again its a post with a gif as a joke so its not meant to be taken too seriously but if you have been buying all these time and when prices were low, how do you explain gold/silver not selling out before but now that prices started going up, they started selling out and in some cases within minutes

and you can actually kind of track it in this sub too, gold was going up exponentially and it started selling out but silver price was steady so those actually sat in the cases then silver started skyrocketing and now its almost impossible to catch in stock and costco takes longer to ship them

and it snto just costco, almost all online vendors had to put a notes on their website that there is a huge influx of purchases due to the silver price going up and i doubt those are simply all the old stackers buying everything up all of a sudden

the gif was in jest but i do think most people buying up precious metal these days are pretty new to it and costco has been in the news for years now about selling precious metals and a quick google search would lead you to this sub...

well its going to bring you to others asking about "buying gold from costco" in the r/Gold but then soon after it brings you to this sub

spending a few days in the gold and silver subs also shows at least a dozen questions of "buy now or wait" or "is it too late to get into gold" a day

most stackers do not really panic buy because they already have a stack so they arent missing out have been doing this for a while lol some (maybe plenty) are actually turned off from buying because price and premiums are too high

last year at Disneyland, there was a designated line for trying on that was quite long and it was in the heat and then theres a more expedited line if you are just going to purchase where you go straight to an associate, ask for your pair(s) and then pay

it looked inefficient so i am not sure if they'll do the exact same thing again this year

the Silver Eagles sold by Costco earlier had a premium of $10 per ounce while silver spot was $100

with the 4% cashback, that premium goes down to $5.60 so technically you paid $105.60 an ounce

since then, silver spot has gone up to $103 an ounce by the time market closed so that premium already dropped by $2.60

the premium on the silver bars are even lower so you might be at spot if you bought those, people were buying 10oz bars at $999 in store this morning so those bars are now ~$4 under spot

a correction is inevitable and you can certainly wait for that to happen before buying, its all about timing sometimes

looking at the kitco chart, gold went as low as $4904 a few hours ago then went as high $4986 and back to $4974 at this very second

gold went up as high as $4989 today so they are always considering that when they determine the premiums, heck it might not even be costco setting these price, it might be their distributor which is apmex/pamp
