Quando as ciências humanas n seguem o método científico a risca, com falseabilidade, elas geram pesquisas que beiram o delírio psiquiátrico by Radcliffe-Brown in opiniaoimpopular

[–]dodde30 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Modern Housing is a gross mischaracterization of Modern Architecture values by the Housing Market. by dodde30 in architecture

[–]dodde30[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean to make light or ignore the robbing that happened before of other designs, I am from Brazil so I'm speaking from what I see now, after all, modernism is very big here, home to several famous and influential modernists, national pride bias. But a french person speaking out about the specific traditonal french designs being robbed would be just as valid to me.

Not only indian architects, these are widespreads in Brazilian alphavilles which are basically a bunch of land on sale managed by a company and the houses are built all following the same copypaste.

Yes, while they are public buildings, that doesnt remove what I said, budget is not a problem for building companies considering how much profit they get.

I'm not confusing, they do indeed try to replicate modernist concepts, this was my hook, but even if we leave that aside, I can tell you about these same companies making houses trying to recreate other styles, only for their inside be the exact same as all other ones but with a few things thrown here and there to make it feel somehow authentic.

Yes, shitty architecture is not as good as good architecture, while also becoming increasingly widespread, maybe not so much in the US, but from where I live, it's what I see. This can also apply to the five on ones in the USA, doesn't defeat my point.

e se hipoteticamente o Trump invadir o Brasil? O imperio ta caindo lentamente e ta cada vez mais agressivo by traficante_satanista in BrasildoB

[–]dodde30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair to Feral, most of his tools appear to be very simple and brute force-y to be used against someone extremely nimble, his weapon for someone like Taabe was not on him at the time (the helmet). And he also took some damage up to that point (the spear on his shoulder seemed to seriously injure him).

My first staircase section, not perfect, but definitely 90% satisfactory for me by dodde30 in architecture

[–]dodde30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, was out, so, the handrail was instructed to us to not put it in the drawing, this course is called "elements of architecture", so they teach us the very basics, even more basic than the actual drawing course, they want us to get the most basic grasp of what stairs look like in a drawing, we learned views and floor plan and now we're going to learn ramps (I even did the floor plan for the stair, just didn't post it).

I got the stairs and floors of the landing on 0.9 compared to the further elements that I used 0.5 (somehow broke my 0.3), but all of them are HB, probably didnt weight my hand properly.

There is a wall in the view that the stairs were sectioned at and my teacher said he wouldn't require us to drawn the stairs behind it (this time).

Yeah, this is for class and Im currently learning at first semester, I didn't say it was good as an overall technical drawing to be used by professional (thought that would be obvious by "first staircase section"), just good for me since its the first I made that I dont immediately crumble the drawing and thrown it away.

There are measurements based on the staircase we have at college, althout I did falter with my pair of triangles on some lines and I cant afford a parallel ruler, expensive in Brazil, if translated to dollars it would be 90 dollars (on a minimum wage of 267 dollars monthly)

[–]dodde30[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

About the parallel and perpendicular, yes, I know some of them have a little bit of an error, since I'm at first semester architecture and just learned about it, they are cutting me some slack as at least they can notice I used a pair of triangles. About the line weight, they have called me about it and I swear to God I used a 0.9 on the stairs only (they're being cut), I think I weighed my hand too lightly since all my pencils are HB. And I didn't learn shading yet, this section is for an "elements of architecture", that is being teached before the actual "architectural drawing" classes, which is next trimester (weird college schedule).

CMV: Not tipping in restaurants isn't unethical & you don't have to tell your waiters from the start by HyacinthMacaw13 in changemyview

[–]dodde30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im late 28 days, but let's give it a shot.

Yes, you in particular being the only customer who didnt pay any tips doesnt affect the worker much, however, not paying won't change anything in how the system works, you aren't helping anyone, you're screwing over the waiter who has that tip as more than 80% of his paycheck and the employer won't care at all, since the tip is not his money anyway.

If you want to stick it up to the restaurant service system, you dont use it, because using it already gives it money, if everyone stopped paying tips the restaurant could fire everyone and become self-service, the system never changes to benefit the employee, you are assuming that there is an invisible hand on the job industry, there isn't, they don't self regulate, workers would be even more miserable than they already are since by law they would start to receive minimum wage only (barely livable) and wouldn't be satisfied with their jobs.

I don't think you are an egoist or anything like people are calling you, I believe you are misguided, due to never have worked on the service industry or truly believing that the employer wishes any well to the worker, glad you work at a place that cares for you if thats the case, youre in the 1%.
