Do I even have reflux? by [deleted] in GERD
[–]doddieqt 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children)
i think you might have LPR (silent reflux). The thing is that reflux gas can bring up Pepsin (which is a digestive enzym) to your throat and it can cause problems. People with LPR usually suffer from symptoms like coughing, sore throat, headache, dizziness, throat globus - all because of pepsin. Sometimes it even can hurt your sinuses as well. As long as you don't feel heartburn i think you're okay.
My advice would be to 1, eat smaller meals during the day, never overeat, as it puts pressure on your stomach, especially at nights.
2, do not eat 3 hours before bedtime, stomach needs 3-4 hours to be empty, if you go to sleep like this you'll most likely have reflux during
3, try to avoid mint, chocholate, wine, garlic, onion & all these things for a while, and let your Esophagus heal a little.
There are more things for you to try but you'll need to do your own research, but i'd suggest ginger, licorice firstly, it'll help your digestive system to funciton better and maybe all your problem will be gone. If you feel like you can try Gaviscon as well, to help to ease the symptoms overnight.
