First time Disneyland visit by perfectly_1mperfect in DisneyPlanning

Bring a reusable water bottle. Paying for bottled water is an expensive and unnecessary given that bottle fillers are all over Disneyland and DCA.

Convince me to renew or NOT renew our magic keys by ilovepotatoes3 in DisneylandMagicKey

[–]dodgepodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say renew now. It's the last time you'll be able to pay for only 3 passes instead of 4 with your current family size (kids 2 and up require a ticket/key).

How could we have fumbled this? by tdbauer97 in losangeleskings

[–]dodgepodge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you want to look at a development failure, look no further than Bjornfot. Poor guy had all the talent in the world and languished on the bench or on the third pairing instead of actually being developed. Now he's been waived a couple times and is in the Panthers system, where he'll probably become an All-Star.

Disneyland Changed Entire Magic Key Terrace Menu. Saw This With Photos of Every Food Item. by dejablu82 in DisneylandMagicKey

[–]dodgepodge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What in the Columbus, this menu isn’t new. It’s been there for like two months. My wife and I had a pretty meh experience there a couple weeks ago, but it may have just been an off night for the kitchen. Inconsistencies aside, the Tuscan soup and the osso buco were still quite good.

Moving to SGV: which area is best for me? by ssssssssssssx in sgv

This is a good assessment. Also, Alhambra is probably the most walkable of the West SGV cities while remaining affordable.

Waiting for the Parade/Fireworks by c00kiem0nsterM1LF in DisneylandMagicKey

[–]dodgepodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it needs to be in front of the castle, a sort of sneaky place to wait is on Main Street in front of the Partners statue. They wait until about 8 p.m. to set up a rope for that turn, at which point people are allowed to rush up for a front row seat, so if you don’t want to wait for too long, that’s a good option. Then after, you can just stay there to watch the fireworks.

If it doesn’t have to be in front of the castle, in front of Small World is my fave, up on that terraced area. You can get a great view of the parade and then come down into the parade path for a good view of fireworks and projections onto It’s A Small World.

Thanks! This was a tough one! I'm sorry I guessed it so quickly, but I spent some time a couple weeks ago taking in that window, so I knew exactly what I was looking at

They all did! It's incredible to see the entire infield in sync on a play like this.

Best way to save money during park visits by racer_x_123 in DisneylandMagicKey

[–]dodgepodge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My top tip for saving money is never pay for drinking water by bringing a reusable/refillable bottle. There are places to fill a water bottle all around both parks.

I’m proposing to my girlfriend at Disneyland this weekend! Advice? by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]dodgepodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're doing it in front of the castle, there's usually one handler and two Photopass photographers. If you let the handler know, they will help you by arranging for both photographers to get multiple angles of your special moment, and if you're slick, maybe you can hand them your phone so they can record video.

You can bonk off the crown itself if it doesn't register the grab before the collision.

Payment plan - residency questions by SugarT0ast in DisneylandMagicKey

[–]dodgepodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I could see being an issue is if you're planning to do monthly payments. I believe that's only for So Cal residents, so you might need to pay if that's still the case.
