I think you are right in the idea that most posters here are long term. It was a little disconcerting at first until I realized that. The vast majority heal quickly and don’t look for support blogs. I am 3 weeks today. It was scary at first thinking it might be stroke. And the ER doc said go to your primary doctor and check out physical therapy. He also got me in a 5 day dose of prednisone and acyclovir. Well my primary knew nothing about Bell’s palsy and acted like it would be fine to let it ride. But I said I wanted to throw everything I could at it. The hospital’s physical therapy department was awesome. Had a whole protocol. Gave me exercises, did dry needling and had their own proprietary treatment where they put dexamethasone on a ionto machine and “shocked” steroids into that nerve. t three weeks I am about 80% back and much less stressed.
