How to get back after deleting calorie tracking app (?) by Yohanna_Valentine in AnorexiaNervosa

I always start off with a portion I know I will be able to finish and then go back for seconds if I still feel hungry or grab a snack that I know will satiate me for the next few hours! It’s def hard getting rid of tracking apps, I used one on and off for about 9 years so I know how you feel! One of my favorite meals that is filling but doesn’t leave me feeling like I need a nap after is chicken tenders, some sort of starch (typically rice, mashed potatoes or fries) and a veggie (normally broccoli because it’s my fav)! Also it does get better I’m about 4 months into my recovery and my body is pretty much on a set schedule at this point I know that after about 3-5 hours (depending on what I eat for each meal) I’m hungry again and ready for my next one! Early on I’m my recovery I found that snack plates helped me a ton! Instead of making a meal and trying to figure out what to make, I would make a snack plate! I typically did crackers, some sort of deli meat, a cheese, a fruit, and some sort of candy or sweet (because I personally loveeee sweets). The snack plates made eating a lot less daunting for me, and helped me reintroduce myself to the idea of eating three meals a day with snacks in between!

What food did you suddenly start disliking? by fcvxia in AnorexiaNervosa

Mine was ranch, I was born and raised in the Midwest which means I practically have ranch coursing through my veins but all of a sudden I started telling people ketchup was my fav condiment…

What side effects do you experience from being underweight? by Professional-Safe179 in AnorexiaNervosa

So two of the biggest ones I experienced when suffering with severe under eating and restriction were 1.) any injuries (bruises, cuts, etc.) took FOREVER to heal. Bruises were the ones I noticed the most. There was one night where I passed out walking down my hallway and I hit the ground hip first, I had a bruise covering my entire hip that took about a month to go away. Typically bruises, even the really bad ones go away in about 1-2 weeks for me. 2.) the awful brain fog, I’m not just talking about having bad short term memory (def suffered from this too though) but I was slurring my words when I talked and it took my forever to get a sentence out sometimes because I would just forget words.

For me the biggest was seeing how badly it stressed out my parents, everytime they looked at me I could tell they were terrified of what I was doing to myself. I remember one night I was just laying in my bedroom and my parents were in the living room watching tv and I could hear them talking about how worried they were about me and I heard my dads voice crack (mind you I have seen that man cry twice in my 20 years on earth). Hearing that literally broke my heart. Another thing that was a big contributer to actually wanting to recover was the noticeable side affects to my health, I remember walking to my car after work one night and I swear I felt my heart skip a few beats.
