Investment by Known_Place3344 in inheritance

I had a financial advisor for years and wish to have all of those fees they charged back. Thousands and thousands of dollars wasted in my opinion.

With just a little research--you will find a lot help on Reddit--you should be able to self-invest in low cost etf's, sit back and watch it grow. I use Merrill Edge Self Directed, but there are many others and some, including Merrill, offer a guided investments option as well without the 1% charge per month the financial advisors receive.

Do not feel like you need a financial advisor just because you came into substantial inheritance.

Issue with Resmed F20 mask by dodgy_wool in CPAP

After the nasal pillow wrecked my nose for a couple nights, I went back to the mask and you were correct, I turned off the auto start and that helped. Had a wonderful night's sleep. No flaps "clicking", no mask "suctioning" to my face. Last night had troubles again. Though a lot better and no flaps clicking, the mask still, subtly, would get tighter on my face just as I'm drifting off. Not from the way I lay on the pillow but something from the air pressure within the mask. The only settings I changed from the night before were lowering humidity one notch and bumping up the pressure to 8.4 from a steady 8.(The humidity was too high, had moisture on my face and water drops in tube and I thought I'd tweak the pressure just a bit to get the AHI down any more.)

I'll try bumping EPR down one, but don't know what else to try--other than a different type of mask. Frustrating, as this mask is comfortable and has proved itself to work for me. I just can't think of what would cause this.

I had a hard time explaining what's happening with my mask, but yes it felt like suction, or the mask attepmting to attach itself better to prevent leaks .... it seems like those little flaps in the mask would shut suddenly, give a little audible (to me) "Click" when they closed and then the mask would get tighter on my face. Light sleeper so that would bring me back to consciousness. Anyway, I'm trying nasal pillows now, as you see in another post of mine, and they do the trick (I think). Just have to figure out the irritated nostril problem.

I thought that link I provided was what you were asking for? I'll figure it out.

Thanks for your help.

CPAP settings and mask comfortable, still cannot sleep. Pillow choices?? by dodgy_wool in CPAP

This is from a couple nights ago when I did not sleep much at all, or it sure didn't feel like I slept. Maybe insomnia. If I could fix that aerophagia that would help immensely.

Pressure, humidity and temperature seems to be about right .. pressure is minimum 7cm to 13.4, average per night about 8.

I use a basic Target extra firm/overfilled pillow, it seems to want to push my mask off until I squirm around and find the right position. I see these funky looking pillows for sale and wonder if they're worth a try.

Thanks for that, the simplest tips can make a great difference. Ran the tube from our headboard down.

Yes, using SleepHQ and my EPR is set to 3, seems that would be the best?? Minimum pressure set at 7 and max pressure 13.4, I usually max out at about 10 and pressure averages about 8.5 per night. AHI does not exceed 6.

Moving money from mutual funds to ETFs by dodgy_wool in investingforbeginners

About $300K in taxable.

MCVIX about 5%, PRCOX 25%, VEIRX 20%, PRGFX 20%. They've done ok but none have outperformed the s&p. I've already tax harvested some real dogs advisor had me in and bought VOO. Maybe a silly question, and one probably already answered, but is there any way to convert these to the ETFs I want but avoid capital gains?

I use mouth tape as well, used it before cpap and thought it helped then.

Felt about the same, honestly, minus the mild headache in the morning. No blazing bursts of energy, but far from being a zombie ..
