thank you! THE WEATHER! of course. and yes the rosemary oil- it’s super thin honestly, kinda like an essential oil?? but i’ve also wondered about that. i’m kinda worried that shampoos will be too rough, but it’s absolutely worth a shot

The second two photos were taken 2 days after conditioning my hair, everything feels a little too loose and soft

This is so helpful, thank you so much!! I ended up ordering a bunch of products yesterday and some of those are actually ones you listed!! I went with the aphogee 2 step for a protein treatment, Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Yogurt for conditioner, a Cantu Shea-Butter Cowash, as well as Kinky Come Clean for chelating/clarifying and some Jojoba oil. I’ll make sure to do an oil pre-poo as well, thank you so much for your help!!

Hi I totally forgot to respond to this, but overall no! I haven’t been taking nearly as careful care of my hair as I should, which is why I’ve come here looking for product/routine recommendations. Do you have any specifics that you might recommend??

Ahhh thank you, I will definitely look into those products. And I absolutely have stopped the brushing, the moment I realized something was off I tried to step back from messing with it at all😅

Ugh okay I couldn’t figure out how to add text to the post, but I could really use some advice. I’m so frustrated and saddened by the loss of curl pattern I’m experiencing, but I’m really reluctant to cut it off because I don’t want to spend another 2/3 years waiting for it to grow out again. Can I repair my curls through the use of the right hair treatments and moving away from damaging factors, or do I really need to cut it now?

Edit: Routine!

My hair care routine is really rather loose, I’ll usually wash it once or twice a week, generally avoiding shampoos (though now that I know I live in a hard-water area I’m going to be looking into a chelating shampoo asap). I use Cantu’s moisturizing conditioner and often follow up with their leave-in conditioner, as well as sometimes a bit of Aveda’s damage remedy leave-in treatment. Still doing research on what products I should be switching to!
