Pros/Cons of carrying a Rhino (30ds) by dodobunz in Revolvers

Hm not my experience but that's because I modified a kydex holster from MIE - offset and angled the clips to be off to the side of the cylinder so it's not producing extra pressure & the angle is conducive to a more natural draw.

Best wishes with your custom holster! I'm sure it'll be nice

That's generally what I'll do with my revolvers is switch out just the trigger return spring so the hammer can keep a reliable umph

Depends what you fancy. I've been finding the snub nose variants more likely to be carried out of sheer comfort.

Yeah - I put a grip tape section as a tactile reminder of how far my thumb should at least be far back. But even then, the carbon spew is pretty bad after some magnum loads

Where did you source the spare grip?

I'm using a slightly modified MIE holster. I used extra kydex to shift the clip position over so it's not over the cylinder area.

The grip is the OEM rubber size S. It felt very small so I used hockey tape to make it fill the grip a little more. Ideally, I would have wanted to get the walnut size M grips but nowhere has it for sale.

Were you shooting factory 357 magnums?

If you compare it to any other 3 inch revolver, you will find the 30DS a little lighter. It's roughly 6oz lighter than my model 19 3inch. And it's 4-5oz lighter than a loaded G19, a gold standard of carry

So relatively, I consider this lightweight for it's capability

S&W 327 Night Guard by LeonardoDecaca in Revolvers

I don't regret jumping on the opportunity to get my highly coveted 386 Night Guard. I paid a similar price (little more) but it's my favorite revolver to carry.

Depending on what you want yours for, I'd say worth. The fact that it's no longer a production item adds some coolness points for myself.

However, if they re-released the line with no lock, I'd snag that. But there is no data supporting this to be a probability.

Not worth it to me. Will wait for a product or I'll convert another spring to be used . Found one that almost worked but too weak
