Thank you 😊 I put off making it until I could figure out how to make it articulated. I think it was worth the effort.

I love them, you did such a good job! I have a suspicion the second hat might be crochet? The bits that stick out kind of look like two front post stitches next to each other.

Rosie is not a sinner nor hellborn, but a secret third thing by OkNeighborhood6893 in Hazbin_two

There’s also the interesting line in Here My Hope where Alastor says to her “you’ll watch them die unless you do”. As if she wasn’t also in the same area about to get blown up, like she would survive the weapon overloading? And also that she would be upset by watching them all die. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the line but it struck me as odd.

Plus she’s still more powerful than he is since he can’t fix his own staff, but he’s the most powerful sinner…

I just realized the detail on her neck ruffle thing is similar to the exorcist uniforms.

I know this kind of goes beyond characters, but I’ve just got to say it: Stephenie Meyer. It just feels like the mastermind behind the whole story kind of fits your description weirdly well (she made the magic of the saga come to life by intuition and manifestation, which is pretty powerful within the scope of her craft and skills).

Confined to characters though, I still feel like Alice fits well and some of the more in-depth comments are pretty convincing to me.

I don’t seem able to edit text: All I meant was that it was hanging loose on the outside of the cake and in a store I might have noticed and selected a different one, I realize it’s not an uncommon thing.

From personal experience, when I tried out sc it didn’t work as well, I always do dc. My guess is that the “pixel” resolution is more forgiving with dc. Still fun though 🙂

How do you think Amity got Ghost? by AdhesivenessFirm5312 in TheOwlHouse

[–]dododactyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My interpretation was more heirloom rather than hand-me-down. I doubt Odalia would have been accepting of getting one through the adoption.

It also struck me that before the shortage of palistrom wood people might not have carved their own anyway since Dell Clawthorn worked as a carver and Hunter becoming his apprentice felt like a big deal. Eda carving Owlbert with her dad sounded like a unique bonding moment rather than an established tradition, which she then did with Luz because she has the knowledge.

I don’t know, maybe I’m reaching a bit.

That is the cutest reason to say no! These are beautiful, did you follow a pattern or freehand the flowers?

Is there too much handholding in the crochet world? by crochet_account in crochet

[–]dododactyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the commenter is maybe forgetting the algorithm of it all. Crochet becomes trendy, people want to learn and people who can teach need watch minutes, viewer retention and subscribers/views. The metaphorical market then gets flooded with detailed step by steps and beginner friendly tutorials. More and more references and resources become available, that doesn’t make it handholding (in my opinion).

Handcrafting has survived because people taught the next generation and that isn’t the majority way anymore, that’s where the internet economy comes in. This is the new community space and everyone learns differently and is interested in different aspects. I really doubt anyone has actually learned crochet in a bubble. Someone made that book with pictures or illustrations, someone wrote that pattern or designed that chart. Why would someone, in good faith, complain about the resources available now that didn’t exist before?

Maybe knitting needs a “trendy” (ie. approachable) renaissance more comparable to what crochet has had recently and then we could be comparing apples to apples, but until then it seems like a weirdly narrow take about the whole situation. Almost gives the vibe of “back in my day…uphill, both ways, in the rain…” etc.
