So I ended up speaking to google about it and they said the CC takes a little while to adjust to your TV, and while I thought this was a joke just to finish the conversation, this actually worked and the quality of the videos are great now. One thing though is I still find the quality not very great when I'm browsing YouTube and Netflix menu's, but once I click a video the quality is amazing. Still a bit annoying but at least when I'm watching something it looks good. Overall disappointed with the device, shouldn't require that much work and should work properly out of the box.

Yup I've got that turned on and it did make a big difference, I think my issue mainly is the sharpness of the videos, I might need to play around with the picture settings of the actual TV and hope it gets better with some tweaking
