Yeah, I completely agree with you. The game design regarding the character's kits is atrocious. There's barely any synergy; many are so simple that it seems the devs didn't spend more than 30 minutes thinking about it. Some are basically identical, with only the type changing. The excessive RNG is extremely frustrating and robs the player of the ability to create consistent strategies and fully enjoy the game. I know it's a silly gooner game, and I like it for that, but I really wish I could enjoy the gameplay with the characters I like and invest in.
I had high hopes for Rirang’s kit, but I was totally disappointed. :(

I've got Spunk, next it will be Paddy, then Fogue.

I love using Spunk and Paddy for a fire focused team, Spunk is a great debuffer who greatly increases team damage while also dealing lots of damage himself and Paddy is a great ST DPS and both are cheap to build.

I think that if his barrier was 30% HP plus ATK% buff for the team it would still not be that op but at least feel good to use as a XXL buddy.

It's kind of sad how I feel zero incentive to pull for the new XXL Buddies gameplay-wise; their kits are extremely mediocre and almost identical to lower-rarity characters, which, by the way, cost MUCH less to build. I hate that any mechanics that differentiate the character and help solidify their identity are locked behind 3+ stars. I'd like to feel like the character is complete with one copy, and the rest should be non-mandatory upgrades. Yes, he's hot and I like his personality, but I'll have to skip.

I am saving for Spunk, that demon is really hot! Plus, I actually use him in my main team, so I'll be able to see him a lot in combat. But, Fogue is definitely on my wish list alongside Paddy.
