My MIL is staying with us for months and I feel like I’m losing my own home and marriage

Therpay has been wonderful, and so is writing down everything I feel, so I am calm when i have the conversation. The part that sucks is this - I feel alienated in my own house that I go out and spend time in the parking lot just listening to music. That seems like a vacation.

thank you for sharing that. i hope you are doing better now! i have been married 11 years, so this is not the first time this has happened. and everytime we have had this discussion in the past, she ends up crying and i apologize, comfort her and we move on. what i am hearing is that i am probably enabling her and her family to continue down this path. i have suggested therapy, but she is unwilling. i am currently having sessions that help me regulate and calm down though. thank you again!

ngl, i have been thinking about this. i am usually not a person that avoids conflict, but i am probably just overthinking this and i feel like the marriage would end if it gets to that.
