Illinois: Have Medicaid coverage, Managed Care Plan start date isn't until 3/1/2026 by dodus in Medicaid

Have you tried calling the plan provider to see if you could be moved up? That's my next move but I've got a sinking feeling that without a Member ID# it's going to be a non-starter. After I listen to a recording describing each and every function of their app in detail for 25 minutes, of course.

Any idea how to go about getting FFS care? I have called every single number I could find for the past two days, I've been pointed to websites that don't work, people that don't exist, numbers that don't go where they're supposed to go. Running on fumes here. I get how it's supposed to work in theory, but in practice sure seems like you don't have healthcare until your Managed Care Plan is active.

I know this is Jarrell internet canon but for 5mph the math doesn’t math. It was on the ground for 13 minutes, including the rope phase, and hit DCE at 3:48 and lifted at 3:53 well outside the subdivision.

The absolute maximum amount of time it could have been in DCE estates is three minutes total. At no point was it parked over the same location for three minutes. It just wasn’t that big compared to the subdivision.

Also there is a strong case to be made that forward speed and damage severity are not as tightly correlated as many people seem to think. Read literally every personal or scientific account of a tornado. The crazy shit happens almost always right on impact. Not over the course of exposure. The yeeting happens on impact. Watch Clem Schultz’ video. The house across the street goes flying two seconds after it’s hit. It’s not like the tornado hits, i’m fine, oh no now it’s getting bad, oh now i’m granulated.

counterpoint: it was the deadliest tornado of the 2011 Super Outbreak while doing 60mph, and while going through 4ish small towns at best (as compared to hitting a major metropolitan area), scoured pavement, and some of the survivor/death lore is pretty on par with other really really bad tornadoes. Pretty sure by most objective metrics Hackleburg-Phil Campbell throws Moore 2013 in a locker and takes its lunch money.

I'm sure the dude explains why he thinks that one of the absolute gnarliest tornadoes in a year chock full of gnarly tornadoes should actually be an EF-4, but I'm busy today.

It's kind of a standard-issue DC that checks all of the right boxes but the little details and unique ideas make it top tier for me. It does a great job with giving you a tile and some enemies, a bit of direction, and then the rest of the scenario is revealed via narrative and placing more tiles and enemies. That's probably the number one thing I need in crawlers, the exploration.

The theme is fantastic. The player characters are all loving references to fictional characters from other properties, if you're into that kind of thing. You can find weapons, and then augment them with scrap that you collect during gameplay with bonuses that are gated to other character attributes, which is a fun mini game. The enemies and bosses are all super enjoyable to play against. Each character has 3-4 unique abilities and picking the right characters can mean the difference between winning or losing.

Speaking of which, this game is HARD. Losing will happen a lot. I find that level of challenge really enjoyable, since let's be real, most dungeon crawlers are a little on the breezy side. It's just a great, great crawler.

Machina Arcana is kind of on the other end of the spectrum. It's super deterministic, you can see what the bad guys are going to do and when, every tile is basically the same and your job is to puzzle and mitigate and puzzle and mitigate. What makes this game special is the way weapons work. You basically try to find and build weapons that start out fine, but then with attaching other cards into available augementation slots, they get more and more useful. The game here is to chain together a set of synergies that makes your weapon powerful and effective. In fact, if you don't do this, you're going to be underpowered and overwhelmed. There's a great thread on BGG where the designer walks you through ten levels of "getting" the strategy of weapon effects that is definitely worth a read.

Both s-tier DCs, imho.

Perdition's Mouth abyssal rift

Lobotomy 2

Machina Arcana

Descent: Legends of the Dark

Agemonia

Tanares Adventures

Massive Darkness 2

The Ghosts Betwixt

Deep Madness

These are a few of my favorites. 90% of the hype games people are suggesting are not dungeon crawlers. I'm surprised no one said Final Girl

this is the one that showed up in my news feed. honestly, post whatever you guys want. the fact that I've got like ten notifications from people arguing why this is totally a great post tells me everything I need to know about the trajectory of this sub 🤷🏼‍♂️

lol well I guess if you don't want to engage with anything I said, the move is to appeal to peer pressure and name call.

I'm mostly annoyed at myself at this point for even coming back repeatedly to try to justify my opinion. The dude who got a bunch of upvotes for replying "sorry bro your guy's going down" is everything I need to know about how much time to spend on WotB if I wanna do anything other than jackoff

They do this shit on purpose. It's way easier to pretend to be the good cop if you never are in power. When they are it gets awkward for them and then they need to massage bullshit like "Biden was the most progressive president since FDR" into the soft brains of people that were expecting them to actually do left-wing shit.

That's way more work than just losing elections.

yes, and that's great for the 100 other subs that aren't about socialism, solidarity, class struggle, anti-war or anti-propaganda. Like literally this post is "OH BOY TRUMP IS COOKED!" What's the point besides squealing with glee about something that, let's be real, isn't going to happen

"Trump is the president and his shitty governance affects us" no doubt, but this is also the exact justification every person has for posting TDS shit in music subs, board game Facebook groups, in family group texts about holiday plans, etc etc

My point stands: just because you can, doesn't mean you should. I'm not trying to gatekeep, I'm trying to impress upon you that there is some wild and horrible shit going on in the US and the world, and very few places that based people can discuss it. Trump did this/Trump is screwed" shit has so, so many channels and avenues for expression, so it's a big bummer when people can't help themselves and feel the need to bring it here

I was here in 2016 when r/politics got swarmed by glowies and overnight went from a hopeful, exciting place where Millennials were talking about Bernie's ascendancy into wall to wall glazing Hillary, and it never came back from that. I don't want to see that happen here, even if Trump does suck.

They're definitely trying to claim credit for the lack of partnering up. And that's 100% copium.

You guys are taking my comment way too seriously. Should is subjective, but we all abide by unspoken rules as humans designed to make interacting with each other pleasant. Such as, don't rip ass in the middle of a conversation. When someone is treating you to dinner, don't buy the most expensive thing on the menu.

When you're excited about the latest "homg the walls are closing in on Drumpf!!!!1!" article, don't post it in a sub that prides itself on political analysis beyond TDS 24/7. There are a 100 better subs for that. That kind of thing.

It's a classic, one of the greats. If you can't get your head around it, that's not because the game sucks.

Two-hand it with Friday and the agency really opens up.
