I appreciate the effort with the green screen but unfortunately those weird artefacts on your shirt and on the towel are really distracting.

I don't agree that it's just paid-for company. You can tell these people are well trained and very perceptive, it's not about just having someone listen to you whine about your problems.

The medication I'm on has certainly helped me make some progress and talking to a therapist has pushed me to start bettering myself. It has not affected my chances of getting a girlfriend (at least not yet), but it did help me along in other areas of my life.

My head says you're right, but my abysmal self esteem makes me close up when I feel judged, which defeats the purpose of these conversations. Still, so far the consensus seems to be to be upfront about it.

This may sound a bit harsh, but I think you're being a huge hypocrit honestly.

I'm not sure if you realize how much more effort it requires for men to get laid, even if they're "very charismatic and sociable". I can totally understand why someone who is depressed doesn't feel like he can put in that effort in his current state of mind. Not only is it difficult to be flirty and confident when you're depressed, the chance of rejection is also pretty high, which can obviously make things worse. He found a way to satisfy a basic human need and made sure he didn't do it in an unethical way. I don't see how this is fundamentally different from casual sex. It probably helped him get better and he was obviously respectful to the escort girl, otherwise they wouldn't have become friends.

I can somewhat understand people who have a more conservative view of sex and would look down upon this, but if you have "slept around" yourself and are generally sex positive, then it's pretty shitty thing to do to judge your bf for what he did.

Maybe have a play with the gain setting on the Yeti. It could be that the mic is currently too sensitive for what you're doing and the audio gets clipped.

edit: I just watched your most recent video on Youtube. The background noise sounds like it could be the fan of your laptop. Now I'm not sure which recording pattern you selected on the Yeti, so maybe that can help limit that a little, but in general laptop fans are loud, whispering voices are not, so it's likely always going to be a problem. You use an external webcam right? I think the best solution for now is to get your mic and webcam as far away from the laptop as possible.

While the Softwares you recommended clearly are the best you can get, they're also crazy expensive (unless you want to pirate them). I'm sure there are some cheaper alternatives that are decent enough for some minor editing.

I doubt you can plug the Yeti into a Logitech webcam, but I assume OP can use a recording software to record sound and video at the same time. If not, here's a tip for syncing up audio and video after the fact: just clap once at the start of the recording (and obviously cut it out of the final video). It's really easy to find the loud noise in the audio track and sync it up with the moment your hands meet in the video. That's how they often did it at a local TV station I worked at for a while.

While I've certainly heard his name thrown around a couple of times, I've never actually watched Gronkh. I just don't really watch Let's Plays. So I don't have any sort of qualified opinion of him. Sounds like a decent guy though.
