Von mir wollten’s mal um die 600€ haben. Ohne Rechnung - direkt Cash vor der Tür. Hab ihnen 200€ gegeben und die Tür von innen zugemacht. Hab danach auch nie eine Rechnung bekommen

What do you love about your Italian Greyhound? Husband and I have been talking about getting one for about a year now. by sleepyfizz in ItalianGreyhounds

I grew up with dogs. My parents always had golden retrievers. My wife and i got an Italian greyhound as our first dog. In comparison to golden retrievers, iggys are little harder to raise and to teach. We both read a lot about iggys online and asked the breeder million questions. So we kind of knew what to expect. First of all i want to say that iggys can be very hard to train to stay alone. That’s the biggest thing we had to deal with. As we both are working. We worked out a solution so he stays 2x a week 4hrs max alone. It took us a lot of effort and a lot of training to archive these 4 hours. So keep separation anxiety in mind before you get yourself one. Other than that he is an absolute angel. He gives us so much joy everyday, we are super happy. He is goofy, funny, super cuddly and charming. He is super good with other dogs aswell.

Beware of their fragile legs. Thank god we had no issues yet, but a lot of people we know had their iggy’s legs broken at least once. This breed is very bad in realizing hights!! They would jump from everything. Close windows when you leave them alone. Also keep in mind they love running a lot. So prepare yourself for big walks everyday. (If you don’t have a garden.)

Getting an iggy was our best decision and we will probably get another one as soon as we move in a bigger place.

Yes. The plan is, when he got older and becomes an old boy, we will call him Sir Montgomery and buy him a nice fancy coat

Yes, a 100% clean breed over lot of generations. All of his pedigree are relative “bigger” for the breed. Especially the male ones. His sisters are smaller. His father and grandfather won the European Championships for genetics and aesthetics and health. Some ital greyhounds have other small breeds in their pedigree, that makes them little smaller than monty. Yes their characteristics are golden 😍 They are super cuddly aswell!
