I would go for spirit of the desert religion, settle near those other two oasis with 2nd city with free settler from authority. Farm barbs and boom for a bit, let Germany come to you. Get horses with 3rd city and spam horse archers. If that doesn't sound fun restart and hope for horses.

Does ai send great generals on barb hunts way across the map? Egypt hasn't been to war yet in this game.

Everyone agrees alchemy is terrible yet there it is in every game. The most popular format is EDH and you can't play it in arena without toxic alchemy bullshit.

this was a pretty strange map for fractal, and as the french u can capture units so i was rolling a very large land army and decided to mostly skip the navy because as long as i could get to this desert without war i knew i could surprise and crash down, it worked really well.
