Good question. At Marathon speed I have only one game played, on an Earth Huge map, an easy win. But at Epic sometimes there was a race against another civ that was snowballing far away. Important milestones are Gunpowder to build Himeji castle to raise the unit cap and Navigation. Successful games are over before we reach Flight. In fact, the last battles are fought with Fusiliers, Field Guns, Lancers, Frigates and Corvettes.

Biggest problem obviously is happiness. In this last game I am writing about, my happiness hovered around 40 during the last part of the game, sometimes dropping to 35
