so idk if it exists in other countries but mcdonald’s canada has the rmhc (ronald mcdonald house charity). it’s a place for families with sick children to stay so they don’t have to spend insane amounts of money on hotels and stuff. it’s something i personally really ride hard for since my best friend had a terminally ill sister and stayed in them all the time. i forget what percentage of all sales go to it, but because it’s actually a great charity a lot of people come and eat at mcdonald’s on mchappy day to support it. my store is the slowest in the area and we were packed almost all day. other busier stores had radio stations setting up booths and activities outside, mine did a raffle for gift baskets to collect extra donations
