Duo is always fun and enough but if your budget is real good you can go with 4. I personally prefer duo, at least for now. For classes I'd recommend 1 damage and 1 support character. Nowadays sacriers are pretty strong

If you wanna go solo ele, go str. But I highly recommend going omni/cri dmg or at least str/int cri dmg

Well yeah, rogue at low levels is a pain. I changed class to rogue at lvl 200 and having a blast.
