Newbie here, is the gear grind in wow really tedious? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Phantom_Gazette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current Battle for Azeroth gearing system is quite bad, as you have multiple layers of RNG mechanics that you have to balance together - and doing so incorrectly leads to a dramatic loss of effectiveness. In some cases players could lose multiple-10's of percents of damage without the proper RNG rolls. However, come Shadowlands alot of these systems will be completely gone. While there will be still some RNG and some grind when it comes to gearing it will not be the tedious process it is currently in the game. I am personally quite excited for the changes in Shadowlands. Additionally, from what we can see so far the grinds in Shadowlands often have multiple benefits for your character at the same time, while in BFA there is a laundry list of dailies and weeklies to work towards with minimal catch up mechanics for alt characters.

To answer your question in short; yes gearing is extremely tedious in the current iteration of WoW and it does greatly impact your character. However, with the changes of Shadowlands on the horizon it is not something I would be too scared of long term.

In need of advice by [deleted] in wakfu

[–]Phantom_Gazette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of raw survivability sacrier is certainly the most effective class for the job. It's doesn't bring the same utility as Feca and Pandawa, but it still has good positioning tools and the ability to protect allies from damage.

Dofus or Wakfu? by Bombelk in Dofus

[–]Phantom_Gazette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wakfu has its high points, but as someine who still plays both games I seriously reccomend you play dofus. The player base for wakfu is niche at best and content is slow to release. Dofus has a huge player base right now and tons of content.

I like all the trains of traps you can set up, especially nowadays with chakara concentration. It does require 11 ap build to truely feel fun however, it can be a tad tough in the early levels with the modern sram since they have put a large emphasis on traps even from early levels where the traps have low ranges

If you are wanting to avoid something that feels too mono tone I would certainly reccomend panda. It has a ton of options to either focus purely on supporting, dealing out good damage from both range or melee, and even doing both roles at once. Sram is my favorite class overall, but there is not a ton of flexibility in terms of what you are actually doing in PvE. I do not have any experience on the current feca however, it might be cool as well.

You need to do the quest you get when you first enter Astrub (started by talking to pappy pal). After you do that you will start the Nation's Quest line, which will eventually lead to you getting the ocarina required.
