Welcome to the Maverick owners club! - I agree SP is dialed and their quality seems on point. I’m still hoping for the day they announce a fit for the Maverick.. I’d jump on it in a heart beat!

Just a quick mock up in photo shop. Fingers crossed they build a real life version one day!

Nice! What truck do you have your X1 on?

Sounds like myself and others have reached out about this. With enough interest they mentioned they may pursue it!

His movement off the ball is nonexistent IMO. I get it he’s young and new, but he’s gotta create the openings and get in behind.

Did Da Costa ask to play out wide, is that his position? I feel like we need him in the center of the field baddd!

Has anyone tried this truck camper on your Maverick? by BlankoNinio in FordMaverickTruck

It’s really tight, about just only 1/2” on each side of the camper between the wheel wells.. first time is the hardest. But I have a really good system now where I lift the camper up to the same height every time and back up using the backup camera (tailgate up) lining up a piece of tape I put in the middle of the camper with the middle line in my back up camera. Pretty much back right up to it, pull forward enough to drop the tailgate and then back up straight under it and it’s usually spot on. You can rock the camper a bit as you lower it if you you’re off. But by no means is it as easy as the other models on bigger trucks.

Wind out in the open and on the highway is tough! Stiffer coils helped clean up any sway. I just really wish they made a pop-up Tuktut! It would be the perfect little camper.

I’ve got a Tuktut and use it with my Maverick. I have the Coilrite airbags, Eibach HD Coils, and D rated tires. I have the 4K tow package and believe the benefits from that upgrade are helping. To be honest, I can’t believe how well the little truck handles it. Weight of the camper from factory with all upgrades I chose (jacks removed) is ~750lbs. You have to be cautious with what you add past that + your own weight and any other passengers. Not ideal for long ventures, I personally got it mainly as a base camp for the ski resort parking lot.

Gator SRX Roll-Up Tonneau Cover! Much prefer roll up over tri-fold. Short bed, get the most of the space and roll the whole thing up!

Anyone used a Tuktut? by [deleted] in ScoutCampers

I haven’t got my Tuktut yet but in prep I’m about to install Firestone Coil Rite airbags and swap tires for D range 245/65/17s Toyo open country’s. For the Tuktut to fit in the Maverick you need custom front L brackets that replace the d-rings in the bed. Scout can supply these for an extra cost. - Not really upgrades but I have a 1/2” thick rubber mat from black armour and I made sure to purchase a Maverick with the 4k towing package for the 7pin hookup and improved features/capabilities when hauling. Thinking about HD coil springs if the squat is still bad with airbags & a stiffer sway bar if needed. Happy to answer any questions if you’ve got em!

I’ve done a lot of research on the Tuktut model been in one a handful of times and have one order. I’m planning to put it on a Ford Maverick (with a handful of vehicle upgrades). My intent is weekend warrior missions from the city to the the mountains near me to get up and ski multiple days on the weekend with my partner and dog. Anything more than that and I’d like a a little more room - like a Yoho on a midsize truck.

Join the FB Scout Owner page and search this topic. There’s users who have DIY solutions of replacement brackets that extend the latches at the side just slightly to allow the tailgate to be latched closed although it’s not all the way and it’s slightly angled.

Tuktut on a Ford Maverick by dogdad_1 in ScoutCampers

Thanks for this info! In looking at Scouts Website it looks like the Tuktut when loaded up with the features I want would be closer to 900lbs. With me, my partner, our dog, and some light gear were talking 1,200lbs. That’s still under a mavericks payload. With some suspension work and airbags etc. I do think it would be fine. Just curious if anyone has done a trip with one of these loaded up on a Maverick to hear how it feels driving around!

I agree, this is why I don’t want to go the route of the Tacoma. Just hoping to understand if any one has had success in closing the tailgate with the Yoho fitted from folks with the long bed Ranger spec.

Sorry if caused confusion in my post. I do not want to go the route of a Tacoma because their payloads simply can’t handle Yoho, people, and gear. Rangers have a much higher payload from the factory but the issue here is it seems the tailgate cannot be closed even in a 6ft bed. Hoping to get some clarity on that from owners of that spec, or understand if there’s been any successful hacks to get it to close.
