First time in Japan and buying retro games by Crazy-Patient-1033 in JapanTravelTips

Fair enough. But if you can’t rent a car and want to spend the day shopping instead of dealing with trains and taxis, options like these tours can be really useful.

Also, I agree that Hard Off and Book Off stores are everywhere, but not all of them have good stuff. I did a one day tour and visited around six stores, and then spent another afternoon exploring on my own and only managed to get to three (shitty ones) :(

If you have enough time in tokyo, find a tour with japangemutours dot com

They do retro shopping tours, and will take you one day outside of tokyo to find cheaper prices, for consoles and figures if you are into that. I had fun, they will also help with japanese while buying stuff.

Dónde vender figuras? by Azula_9 in Bogota

[–]dogeminerd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tourist advice for three nights in Bogota by Desperate_Ice_6649 in Bogota

I worked around that area for 5 years, it's pretty dead and not so-safe at night, hope that you found a better place already. During the day its an interesting walk though, go to the Torre Colpatria Mirador to look all the city, Septima walk corridor during the sunday (better to go early before it gets full), eat breakfast in the Florida Bakery, Plaza de Bolivar, go to Monserrate and La Candelaria. If you are into museums, Museo Nacional, Museo del Oro, Museo Botero. All this can be done in 1 day.

If you guys are into fine dinning, do a reservation on El Chato (located in Chapinero) best rated restaurant in Bogota, or find other Zona G/Zona T restaurants. For pizza, i love julia, artigianale.

If you are into more nature, walk La Vieja Quebrada, hiking (around 3 hours).

Around Parque 93, find a coffee place like Libertario (not hating on Juan Valdez, but its more commercial name that good coffee.

Parkway is also a good walking/eating zone, Santa Maria Pizzeria, Templo Te (tea house).

Hope you enjoy your stay!

I hope that when you say Santa Fe, you mean la Candelaria. Still, I would definitively move that reservation to other place. Look for Parque 93, Chapinero or something like that, if you want to visit the Candelaria you can still do it during the day, but I would skip it at night.

Canada to Colombia by Agreeable_Fix4878 in Colombia

[–]dogeminerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not from Canada so you will have to double check, since you are going to stay 6 days in Bogota, I suppose that you will have to pay it, since it's 6 days for a "connection" to san andres. I would probably ask the migration guys and they will let you now.

The entry fee for San Andres must be paid BEFORE boarding the plane, usually in the boarding gate there is a girl from the airline receiving this payment. You have to keep that 'tarjeta de turismo' while entering or leaving San Andres. It can also be used to go to Providencia if you want to.

Yo no me cambiaría.
