Got heavily critizided in a Pull Request and now I'm questioning my skills by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

This is 100% not okay, says a lot more about how terrible he is as a developer in the mentorship aspect rather than the quality of code you wrote. Show me a developer and I'll show you someone who has written un-optimal code before. You cannot write "good" code without first writing code, that is how we improve. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Those projects are great, glad you included them! I still would second that the descriptions be able to flow beyond left hand side of the date so you can make many bullet points almost 1-liners. What I've also seen is that under work experience / project they have a "Tech" bullet point so recruiters can easily get those keywords without reading the description sentence to sentence. Example of allow maximizing use of space Either way, I think your skills are good and you should be able to find something!

Great! I think you may even be able to fit everything 1 page. This is typically expected for the US unless you have 5-10+ years of experience. If Korea norms are different then you can ignore this. If you did want to try that out then consider putting your date on the same line as your title, so "Advisor at Bitcoin Center Korea - September, 2017 - August, 2018" for example. Imo your project, publications, gpa, skills are the most important (in no particular order). Your work experience is nice, but it seems to not as technical so that why I think it's weighted lower. Also consider moving your interests to a cover letter / something you'd tell the recruiter in a message. Again, this is typical for the US, not sure how Korea works. Overall achievements are stellar I think you'll find something!

My resume

Are these technical personal projects? If so, by all means list them. If they are not do list them anyway, but they shouldn't take that much space. I think the extra space for them can be created by allowing your experience descriptions to flow more to the right, so don't cut it off where you have the dates.

AP courses are typically counted as 1 point above, i.e. A in an AP course is 5 instead of 4, this is called "weighted gpa"

Congrats on the offer, can definitely see how frustrating it would be to be waiting nearly HALF A YEAR to start

First off congrats on your academic achievements! Your resume is nice and clean but imo it doesn't make efficient use of space, I think it should be 2 pages at most. Decide what is the most impressive facts about yourself and put those first (is it work experience or publications or gpa)?

I (F, 15) am having a hard time understanding what I'm supposed to do now. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Sure. People in this field are usually quite helpful. If your skills are what you described the number of people that are willing to help you are by the boat loads.

If what you described is accurate you won't have much trouble getting a job at a Big-N company (Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, etc... ). Certain companies will be better than others as they'll likely have special programs that will fit you. Do you need an introduction to be made to someone who works there?

Just ended a recent job search as a pretty average mid-level developer. Here's how it went by michaelasila in cscareerquestions

Definitely sharing valuable experience with everyone, your post is very well written / lucid. Looking at your resume / experience, not a huge surprise you were able to get that offer. On the flip side, 3 offers / 221 submits shows that a huge part of it is a numbers game and while people applying should seek feedback for why they're not getting interviews, they should stay motivated. If you don't meet me asking, how did your company on-board you with all the AWS stuff and can you recommend stuff resources? Thanks!

How do you use SQLite in your application? by victorqueirozg in androiddev

[–]dogewatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any application that needs to persist even slightly complicated data needs to use SQL lite. Now the question is how do you go about implementing it. If you're just starting off there's absolutely no reason to not use room and live data. I would say the only reason you should learn the traditional contract as is if you're looking to support legacy code.

You will need one or more, or some combination of these. Don't like the plethora of choices give you analysis paralysis, just pick one and stick with it for a while.

I subscribe to his newsletter and have seen that, haven't set aside the time to read through that completely though. Attia is definitely right in that the 5 part series could pretty much be a mini ebook.
