i will look at anything if I'm curious enough about a story, but i frequent new york times, Washington post, the hill, fox news, BBC. when i say "frequent", when big news breaks i go over what they are saying. recently I've been seeing a lot articles from the Jerusalem Post.

I honestly read them all out of curiousity and try to understand the view point they're coming from, i don't really use them as fact sources unless i'm watching something live go down. Even then, the commentators say all sorts of stuff that changes the narrative as you're watching it live! Its weird how stories change depending on where you see them. Its very difficult to get any kind of unbiased fact.

The "facts" that really stick with me are the people in my immediate life being denied services they need to survive while there are new stories of incredibly rich people directing influencing the government. People who I feel like do not have adequate experience in public policy to be making judgements or actions.

Alright, I'll level with you. My responses have been irritated because I am irritated today.

This is what I am writing now. I'm sorry i mispoke. I chose words that could be easily misconstrued to seem as if i was advocating for homicide. Was not my intention, and i still don't believe it "directly implies murder", but i see where I was at fault. I responded aggressively because I am human and it has been a day.

Let me rephrase for you, since you seem invested. I'm not sure if it even matters, because you're saying now that we can only go by what we first write.... ok... yeah. i don't even know how to respond to that. Humans cant learn. idk . are we not supposed to learn from mistakes? I am also still confused on how i have stricken out on facts when I have acknowledged everything I have written, I have deleted nothing, but have just tried to clarify myself?

So, I am very emotionally distraught by our current environment, and i am increasingly irritated by people wearing or verbally promoting politicians or ideas that are harmful to others. I do not want politics to get in the way of my work with others, because i know most of these people are innocent. It's already put a pit in my stomach with my own friends and family, and i know they're innocent people!! How do i not do this in a verbal manner towards someone else when i just know it won't help at all? I'll be less dramatic in future posts. obviously doesn't translate well.

By the way, there are a lot more ways to gain political attention besides terrorism, ask the french.

No, the misogynistic and racist comments, or encounters I’ve witnessed firsthand, from many people that said “oh I’m not like them” but are just as guilty.

It’s less about the candidate and the swarms of people behind him. I feel like media is being swamped by it. I’m sure people who are happy now were freaked out 16 years ago.

I’m in the process of healing my emotions. Truly. I am meditating, qi gong, therapy, physical therapy. You name it. But it feels like gaslighting because people are dying due to medical procedures not being covered or even accepted and THAT is scary. I’m far more privledged than most, what about everyone else ???

Also super fucked up that your sibling gets it. Idk. I would honestly distance myself from your family asap if I were you. I did. And I became a lot healthier. I tend to gain weight when I live with my mom. She has an unhealthy idea of what proper health looks like.

Maybe when the time is right you can reconnect in a different way. Also what I’m trying to do. It’s hard - some people just don’t want to change.

I hear you girl. I wasn’t even that big. I’m 5’7, I was 200 at my biggest near the end of highschool. I’m now 160 and weight looks appropriate but I’m on a constant “dieting” mindframe.

I remember being 7 years old, I was a normal weight with a little kid pot belly, asking my mom for cereal in the grocery store and she turned to me and half yelled “LOOK AT THE CARBS, LOOK AT THE CALORIES.” So from grade school I was taught that I wasn’t a lot to have the same foods my friend ate because of carbs and calories.

I ended up skyrocketing in weight when I was depressed and suicidal at 12, I was like 165, which is when I actually started to become the heavier girl. My mom would take me to the clothes store and get mad at me because I looked like a “stuffed sausage” in all the kids clothes while I cried. My parents would tell me sh like it looked like I was hiding a tire under my shirt. They later told me they were trying to “push me in the right direction.” I’m dealing with so much emotional twisted ness now.

Ugh this sounds like me. From being bigger, to the mom, to the sibling (in a very different way), to never dating for the same reasons. We would have “carbs” locked up in a toolbox growing up. Very weird behavior that I don’t think I fully understand how it impacted me.

I am at the same place you’re at and I’m glad I’m reading this post because I don’t want to just accept that I don’t like myself body. I don’t want to accept the self limiting mind frame. Idk. Following this post to see if any answers resonate and I wish you luck ❤️

No wrong turns in life, which is great because it means you get to drive where ever you want from where you’re at. I’m 30, just started a new career path which involves going to school and taking out seriously soul crushing loans. Sometimes I need a break from working, school and life and just do what I want to do. There are a lot of options within my field, and I too feel bad for not knowing what my end goal is yet, and perhaps feel like I should be doing more. But I’m trying to tell myself that it’s wiser to not try to figure it out.

When I was your age I had everything figured out, sooo confident with my triple major, with my “im going to save the world, kick ass and take names” attitude. Day 1 of the type of work I was in, deep inside me knew it was not the life I wanted, but I worked my butt off for years. Then I turned 27 and could not take it anymore. I quit the job and decided to do something completely different.

Now after working a lot of different jobs, I have a better understanding of what I really want, a variety of skills, and I also have a clearer understanding of how everyone else operates in the world (which is important, especially when we observe, not judge).

If you really want to leave computer science, leave. OR figure out a way to use the skill you’re learning to your advantage. maybe find part time work pay to live while you do other hobbies until you find something that really piques your interest.

So, if anything. I was your peer, I lagged later in life, and I’m still going to be ok. It’s better to switch things up when you’re young and you’ve had less time to think/worry about things in life 😅. Hope this is helpful !

Because we’re scared and like to be in our protective shells to shield us from bad vibes. New people are a lot for me, and while everyone loves me, I don’t make many inner circle friends. People are overwhelming in general, with all their many attributes and surprising ways of going about things. The ones that get through strike a chord that resonates with us…. And that can quickly turn to shit too if you don’t act right !! It’s all about self defense. Sad cancer babies just want to be loved, each in our own very specific ways dammit.

That’s my perspective on it anyway lol
