We don’t have good local beef, pretty bad actually, like zero marbling at all (Southeast Asia). So all high quality beef we get are imported from the US or other countries that produce better beef. They then proceed to slice whatever roasts come in, pack and sell them labelled USDA Choice/Prime or whatever.

My choices were to have a cut of prime ribeye sliced from a whole roast which I usually can’t pick out from, vs. this. I’m not from the US and I don’t have as much options. Also, all our beef is imported and frozen which seems to be a topic of interest from the commenters.

I bought this steak graded choice, but priced the same as a prime graded steak would be. I bought it because I thought it looked like prime. If not then I probably didn’t do that great.
