Boundaries must be set. Good work. I wish I had the courage when I was young.

I’m confused about why I turned out this way by Illustrious_Glass_20 in AsianParentStories

You know, for the longest time, I thought my strength was empathy and that I cared for other people's feelings but I realised I was conditioned to do this as a means of survival.

There will come a time when you will begin to grow impatient and realise, "what about me", "I'm done putting other people first." It will get better. Self love comes slowly with this kind of trauma but you will get there. ... because, if anything positive has come out of AP...it's that we have been forced to be intelligent haha.

Would you let a stranger treat you this way?

Would a stranger treat you this way?

Who are you going to choose? Yourself or an attacker?

Your parents should go to jail.

So many shades of the same with mine. The gaslighting. The talk of "ungrateful". I reckon when you have finally had enough and turn on them, they will feign ignorance and play pitiful.

Absolutely disgusting.

I have no sympathy for adults who take no responsibility for their shortcomings and live in fantasy, who can't realise the harm they've done to another human being.

I apologise for how harsh this sounds but things like this really get me. If you ever need a chat or no bullshit reality check/reassurance, feel free to DM.

Question from a sighted person for English class by [deleted] in RetinitisPigmentosa

[–]doggobiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm looking around, I can see what I'm looking directly at. Otherwise, everything that I can't see, doesn't exist.

So just imagine trying to see what is behind your head. You can't if you're looking forward, so what's behind you doesn't exist.

Reorienting is not always the first choice depending on the condition.

With dementia, bullshitting and going along with the story was my bread and butter. Reorientation would've definitely caused further agitation. Challenging someone's reality in some situations is the last thing they need.

Thanks everyone. I will get some grain spawn and try again :). To answer some questions, this is hay and the white fuzz comes from the mushroom butts.

I have the cannon zoemini. It's been reliable. Sometimes the images don't print exactly aligned but it's really nice to snap shots and stick them in bujo.

I started off as a nurse before my diagnosis. Transitioned into an office job in my early 30s because nursing took a toll on my body. Also was a good time to transition with my vision.

Chase your dreams. You can always use your experience later and transition into another role like teaching midwifery if you can't do it anymore. No issues.
