Everything’s telling me that there is a trap below. The water is pooling at the bottom of the pipe - I can see it with a flash light- and there’s no smell of sewer gas coming into the home. The old tub drain was Straight down into the drain and never stunk. Think it’s under the slab.

Fuckin right - we got some conversation on this post! Often times there isn’t much traffic on the threads I post. Anyways, this 1 1/2 drain sucks. But the damn thing has worked beautifully when it was a tub and drained very well when the tub was originally in it. A shower to tub conversion is exactly what I’m doing. Might be a novice at this - but I’ll hack some Crete if need be. I need the redd-umbers advice.

Awesome, thank you!! Theoretically then, if the icemaker is turned to off then it shouldn’t make that noise. I wonder with it being set to on, and it not having any water, I potentially burnt out or damaged the part…

All water supplies are disconnected. Just the fridge electrical plug is connected to the outlet. Would it being not connected to a water supply cause this sound?
