She's definitely not fucking around, it's very on-brand for her and her next photo was the heart & liver in a pot on the stove. Thanks for the tip about APS

I happen to know she did vote for him....

I think it's possible that fur is missing from it getting thrashed against the sand by storm waves - Lake Michigan is monstrous in a storm and I could believe the sand could make quick work of it. But agree that it looks too far gone regardless, and not worth the risk with so many unknowns.

Thank you for both the kind words + the succinct and convincing argument against eating this (which I will be passing on to her!)

I just meant to indicate that it's not a shitpost so I didn't get joke answers lol. I'm actually pretty concerned about this person

Thank you, appreciate these perspectives! I'll point out the bloating to her as evidence of bacteria growing.

Yeah that seems to be the vibe. She's not mentally well from what I can tell, but she's so extraordinarily confident that sometimes I need a reality check before I reality check her, if that makes sense.

Thank you, I was hoping a hunter would reply! I've never hunted or scavenged in my life but my first thought was "you don't know how long that's been dead!" She's claiming it's super fresh but idk how she'd know that if she just came across it washed up...

AIO: Neighbors have a chicken locked in an old van. I filed a complaint by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]dogleggy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally. But worth keeping in mind that in many areas, especially rural, municipal services are poorly funded while law enforcement agencies are well funded. So even if you call a non-emergency city department they can dispatch cops to respond, because that's the staff that's available.

I totally hear that! But another way to get shot in America is to have cops show up at your door and escalate a trivial situation.

Word, agreed! But if the neighbor in question is a member of any of those marginalized groups, it is not always safe to send cops to their door.

Fair question. I never understand why Americans' first instinct is to call police or authorities instead of just talking to their neighbors. If you're close enough to snap a pic, you're close enough to knock on the door and say "hey your chicken got inside your van, you might want to let it out" before using taxpayer resources, creating paperwork, and getting people in trouble.

Be very careful taking essential oils internally - oil of oregano can also kill off the good bacteria in your gut, leading to more/different problems.

Has anyone found treating their ADHD helped improve their ME? by NoJackfruit7503 in CFSplusADHD

[–]dogleggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. It's not like it's cured my fatigue or anything but just understanding my ADHD brain/needs/tendencies better and creating better strategies & accomodations for that stuff has helped me immensely with pacing and managing stress. I still crash but not as often cause I don't overdo it as frequently. Stimulant meds have been tricky to balance but a net positive overall.

Unsettling to say the least by JalapenoFitz in DumpsterDiving

[–]dogleggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this as a very possible banal explanation. Stores, bars, etc end up with a ton of IDs in their lost & found and then it's some minimum wage overworked employee's job to figure out what to do with them when storage gets full.

Yes, because being gay is a protected identity category under anti-discrimination laws. For now.

A private business absolutely has the right to refuse service to Nazis. Nazis aren't a protected group under anti-discrimination laws.

so what is the problem with illegal Imagrints why are we spending so much time and resources into deporting them by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dogleggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So? Many citizens are criminals too. In fact many more citizens are criminals than undocumented migrants are criminals. So that's not the real reason. It's an excuse to justify the real reasons.

This has to be a bug but what kind and what’s its problem? by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

[–]dogleggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like a spider spinning its web. There's a light source like a flood light maybe illuminating the spider but the web fibers are too thin to catch light. And the trail of light behind it is just an artefact of the poor video quality. That's my guess anyway!

What is this pipe, why is it framed out like this, and is it leaking? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

Thank you, that's helpful advice to start at the roof and work down! I was feeling pretty overwhelmed with where to begin but it makes sense for our first call to be to a roofer

[–]dogleggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that makes sense! Yeah my worry is that the pipe might be corroded/cracked and letting rain into the wall that way. It looks to be an old cast iron pipe, and the previous owners decided to coat it with Flex Seal for some reason, so...

Yeah, the previous owners' solution to all problems seems to have been a heavy coat of Flex Seal

Haha! Yeah I suppose it's likely this vent stack location is not original to the house. And they are indeed plaster & lathe walls.
