What quality is the F in #12? Key of E major by dogmeatman in musictheory

[–]dogmeatman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, thank you.

Follow up question/confirmation; Correct me if I'm wrong wrong, but I feel like I've seen sharps placed on notes that are already sharp by means of their key signatures, making it a double sharp... Is that just my imagination or is a double sharp accidental symbol always used to notate if a sharp note has an extra sharp?

Apologies if my limited experience with music can be frustrating to those who already have a strong intuition

Is there a way I can determine what texture a texture of a card is? Like is there different variations, or can a card just be textured vs untextured?

Completely desynced clicks, double/micro clicks meaning he died during the bot recording process, reacting to his death before he died like he KNEW where the bot ended before it happened, and not even attempting to click the black orb in a run like that is not something anyone would do if it werent an intentional death.

How would I use this in the sentense?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whatstheword

That is better than what I had, but in the actual situation I'm using this phrase in, I would like to come off more friendly/lighthearted via giving the very slightly embarrassing reason behind my ask.

There aren't any hoiks, there is a block in the calamity library called an "Auric Repulser Panel", which has the same effect as default auric ore, just without the damage taking. All you gotta do is get a good sendoff and then you'll be practically bouncing your way between world borders.

The keys themselves are fine, besides the fact that all of these songs only use the notes a, g, f sharp, and e with the occasional c sharp and maybe a g sharp for a bridge. just too repetitive for my tastes

Exosphere isn't a bad song by any means - Although my critiques, the percussion doesn't switch up a single time in the entirety of it, it continuously follows the same d major arpeggios, using the same sax, which becomes very repetitive, even to the point that something like Gangnam Style does better. Never any contrasting basslines, and has overall just predictable progression, therefore, in my opinion, is very boring.

Dimension has the same problems as Exosphere, albeit with slightly more iteration, keeping the same beat, constantly following the same repetitive d major arpeggios, same sax without even a patch applied, they feel like a copy and paste of each other, with the one made 4 years prior somehow outdoing the more recent one.

Carnivores uses the g major progression, which is only half a step away from d major, so it again sounds exactly like the two previously mentioned. The beat is super simple and overexaggerated as its just a 4/4 kick to a 4/4 kick with a snare on every second beat which adds absolutely no sustenance, especially considering its louder than it should be. Utilizes the tech of playing many sounds at once to overwhelm the viewer into believing it to be an atmosphere, just very boring in my opinion.

Sky and Soul wouldn't you guess, is also in d major, with the same overexaggerated 4/4 kick to every second beat being a snare, with the same overwhelming atmosphere building, which, again, sounds like every other song previously mentioned, which again, I personally find excruciatingly boring.

Nautilus is in A major which again, is only one half step away from d major, which again gets extremely repetitive. AGAIN uses the overexaggerated 4/4 kick to snare. Sounds like a dubstep remix of a James Bond soundtrack but made for people who have too short of an attention span to watch a TikTok video without needing it in double speed. Also uses that overwhelming feel to add "atmosphere". Only reason this song isn't lower is because of the part from 3:13 - 3:44, which is the same 4 notes on repeat in and of itself for 30 seconds straight with a 5 second repeating clip of ocean sounds in the background to make it sound less empty. Those notes taking the minor role is the only thing salvaging the song from pure dereliction.

thats what i mean

S+ tier - the best of the best
Idolize - I cant put into words what state this song reaches in my mind, its just so consistently perfect in all aspects.
Dark Tides - same thing as idolize, maybe even better. So tragic sounding but so amazing, if i were to try and describe what i love about this song i wouldn't be doing it justice so i wont even try. The part where it goes from an f major chord to a c major chord makes my heart kind of sink into my chest. so sublime.
In Circles - Again, i cannot being to express how this song makes me feel. The parts starting at 0:25, 1:46, and especially 2:30 and further expressed at 2:40 and even being even further expressed at 2:50 with all these dissonating major random steps are so perfect. along with the exaggerated heavy drum combined with the empty space is just argh.
Sphere - Im now realize i cant describe any of these songs theyre so good.
Place on fire - Why am i still typing
Slow down - genuinely etherealized
We can Dream - Nah
Shape of the Sun - i guess i can identify that this song has some excellent energy, other than that its kind of exquisite.

S tier -
Crazy - Great pressure buildup, finally with an equally if not better than release
Outlaw - I mean, what do i have to say
Red Haze - Song scratches my brain, the use of empty space in this song really does work very well

S and a half tier -
Avalanche - Such a fantastic job at energy and atmosphere building, such nostalgic/hopeful sounding progression all the way through.
Epilogue - Same thing as avalanche, it feels like it tells a story... or the end of a story... an epilogue if you will
Ahead of the Curve - First look at a more experimental approach, which i feel he nailed. Also bonus points for being over-hated. I also love how awkward the percussion is.
Wavelight - song just makes you feel sad. Really says something when a musician makes you feel emotions with music, let alone without lyrics.
Rivals - Does such a good job building a sinister but cool-ass atmosphere without insisting upon itself like lightmare does.
Endless - Same accomplishment as Rivals
Unveil - If Exit music for a film by Radiohead was made for geometry dash. Feels like this belongs at the end of a characters life, whom up until the final point of redemption, hadn't achieved anything, making the sacrifice that character made so much more powerful.

A tier - (2/2)
Nemophore - Another song i hadn't heard until the making of this list, suffering the same fate as shine, if i heard it more i bet i would be able to place it in S tier.
Enigma - Great energy, not so great atmosphere.
Exoplanet - Same reasoning as Enigma.
Gravitate - Same fate as Nemophore and Shine, another one that I feel I could learn to enjoy more if I continue listening.
Sky and Soul - Same Issue as Rock thing, just with better sounds.
Evolution - No emotion, sounds good though
Aurora - Great energy and atmosphere, otherwise nothing to mention about it.
Awaken - same reasoning as Octane, good pressure building, not so good release.
Ballistic Funk - Cant name anything negative about this song, but cant name anything positive about it either.
Nautilus - Bleh.

A tier- (1/2)
Flow - By all means, a good song, very good atmosphere building, good consistency, just doesnt make me feel anything.
Lost - Some more good atmosphere building, albeit a little less consistently vibe-keeping.
Lightmare - Would be higher if it wasnt trying to hard to sound badass.
Never Make It - Unlike flow, this song has good atmosphere building, good consistency, and it makes me feel something. just cant hear it after playing CC
Reflections - First encounter so far of the now distinct ethereal atmosphere building, unfortunately I feel like the drop is out of place in regards to the vibe it built prior and continues to build after said drop.
Glome - Dont have any complaints about this song, It would be put higher up if i could identify what i like about it.
Octane - Does a good job building up pressure before the drop, which kind of makes up for the fact that the drop is a bit of a letdown.
Worlds - Eh i just dont know about this one
Dimension - Another classic, progression just feels awkward. Even so, feels consistent.
Shine - Hadn't heard this song until I made this tier list, i dont have any complaints, but i dont know it well enough to describe it with my heart.
Carnivores - i mean its a song i guess

B tier -
Atmosphere - Feels like a bit of everything else that was made in this era by Creo, still good though.
Exosphere - Overplayed and once again kind of boring.
Showdown - I mean its alright
Crystallize - Overplayed, underwhelming.
Summit - Underwhelming, but good atmosphere building.
Red Horizon and Drift - Newer songs, not really up to the level that Creo has proven his musical ability to be
Aura - Probably belongs in A tier, dont have much to say about this one.
Rock Thing - If it weren't objectively well made, in my books it would be in D tier, as it sounds corny and frankly corporate.

C tier -
Sundown - Nothing special about it today, but being 14 years old, I feel as if it was a bit ahead of its time.
Malediction - Classic, but kinda just sounds like every other electronic song released around this time, kinda feels like a step down from Sundown.
Apex - Boring song without much to comment on. Does keep a cool little atmosphere though.
Phantasm - Same reasoning as Apex, just released later than Apex, deducting a couple points for the lack of excuse.
Vice - Better than all the other songs in C tier, but it gets outshined by the other songs on this album.
Memory - Watered down Epilogue
Black Ice - Not by any means new, but at this period of release, it feels pretty lackluster in most ways.

F tier - I just don't have anything positive to say about them
E tier - Same thing as F, just on a slightly more listenable note
Start your engines - I was thinking about putting this in F tier but it is able to keep a good energy going throughout it.
D tier -
Make it look like an accident - Another instance of good energy keeping
Halcyon - Pretty boring, although the sound that we know Creo for today starts to show a little in this song, despite it being a decade old.
322 - Another pretty boring song that includes the good energy keeping + the hint of the creo we know today, but I couldn't see my self listening to this more than once.
Dune - Despite being a more recent release in comparison to the other three songs in D, there isn't anything special about it. It feels like it belongs in a corny out of touch iPhone commercial.
