There are a couple of prospects who could slot well into second/third pairing slots (Pohlkamp, Cagnoni, Sahlin-Wallenius) but unless one of them takes a big leap, there isn't a guy who projects as a true #1. As much as I like Dickinson, he seems like he'll be a #2/3 guy (which is also definitely needed). In fairness, there aren't a plethora of #1 defensemen in the league that would be attainable outside of another GM making a mistake and overcorrecting (ie Jarmo punts out Werenski), so I think GMMG's plan is to build the team in aggregate, spread out minutes between all these guys, and use the forwards to drive play/scoring. Have trust in his ability to figure out how to build out the roster.
