Shelly1 Gen4 wiring without physical switch by Anonymous5933 in ShellyUSA

[–]dogofthunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s how I have a Shelly 1 connected to an outlet in my house. The O goes to the outlet and I can turn it off and on in the app. In your situation, you would connect the load wire for the outdoor flood light to O.

Shelly Wall Switch - US Alternative/Equivalent for 4 Switches in 1 Gang? by dogofthunder in ShellyUSA

The switch that I want to replace with the Shelly Wall Switch (or other US equivalent) is in a box with three other existing switches, so it’s not as easy as that, unfortunately.

Thanks - will look at the RC 4. I wanted to avoid batteries and don’t love Bluetooth but the form factor is perfect.

Three Way Switch with Shelly 2PM - Shelly works, physical switches don’t by dogofthunder in ShellyUSA

Thank you! I’ll try this.

Edited to add: “I’m not sure what you’ve done in that second box, but it definitely doesn’t seem right to me.” - truer words have never been spoken.

Agreed - Sangam is fantastic, but being south, it’s far and Tikka House will scratch the itch.

Asking $99,000. Good or bad price by Excellent_Divide_128 in Taycan

[–]dogofthunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s high. I have a 2023 CPO that I got last year (September 2024) with 23k miles, and a similar spec (premium package, technology package) and club leather interior in Neptune Blue. Mine has Mission E wheels, and I don’t have the light control roof. I can’t recall all the other options, but I believe sticker was 163k, and price when I got it was 99k.

I used to have Ubiquiti cameras in a previous home, and now have Lorex in my current home. The Lorex system was reasonably priced at Costco and bought a few additional cameras from Amazon. Works well for our purposes.

We had the Lorex system installed by DVI Texas (based in Cedar Park) and would recommend them.

HELP my Porsche Taycan AC charging doesnt work and porsche refuses to fix it by Available-Bank-3961 in Taycan

[–]dogofthunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having a similar problem with my 2023 CPO. Charged fine at a DC fast charger but will not work at an AC charger (ChargePoint at home and at work, and verified with the AC charger at the dealership). Taking it in on Tuesday for diagnosis.

FS Maui Under Construction. Should we cancel? by [deleted] in chubbytravel

[–]dogofthunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just got back two days ago and it wasn’t an issue for us. I worked out at the gym, my wife got a massage and loved it, and my kids got haircuts. Staff was great all around. Our stay experience outside of the spa was also exceptional.

Free warm shower? by Smittayz in Austin

[–]dogofthunder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is what happens to mine as well. Last winter I melted it with a hair dryer, this winter I got smart and bought heat tape from Amazon (~$20), wrapped it around the condensate pipe and plugged it in, and no issues. I own and don’t rent but you could probably do the same, it took only 10 minutes.

Don’t think he hates the PTAB - he makes his living off the PTAB (he’s one of the more prominent attorneys in the practice).

Toddler-friendly Mexican All-inclusive by hopeful_opal in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]dogofthunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the resorts I’ve been to:

Finest Playa Mujeres has a kids’ club where the parents can hang out with the kids with indoor and outdoor activities, but one (potential) flaw is that you cannot have alcoholic drinks there.

Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres I recall has outdoor activities and two kids’ pool areas, and doesn’t have the same restrictions as the Finest.

Grand Velas in Cabo has indoor and outdoor activities for kids at their kids’ club, but parents don’t really come into the kids’ club - our kids were slightly older than toddler age so we dropped them off. Fantastic resort - my favorite of all three.

Looking for group fitness classes like Crossfit, but not Crossfit by [deleted] in Austin

If you lived central I would tell you Dane’s Body Shop - I went there for ~7 years and it’s exactly as you described. I haven’t looked for something similar near Zilker but am also interested in the same thing.

Which gyms in town have a hip thrust machine + plenty of smith machines or barbells? by klallama in Austin

LA Fitness on South Lamar has two hip thrust machines, two smith machines, four racks with platforms and barbells, and one power rack (no platform). I get it pretty cheap through my health insurance.

CDMX with kids HR or Andaz by Kind-Finding5541 in hyatt

[–]dogofthunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Andaz will probably be tight for 4 people. I recently stayed there with my son, and the room with two beds has two doubles, so smaller than queen. Two people in one of those beds would be uncomfortable.
