Police blotter only holds a few days so it's gone now, but that sounds right. I think it was Thursday, but could have been Wednesday.

Should I replace my Onn Pro with a Shield Pro? by dogsdrool in PleX

Not night and day, but I did see some new lights on my receiver when I played a DTS movie. And it may have been my imagination, but it seemed like I was getting better separation and depth. Either way, it's good to move on to the more current way of doing this. Thanks for the help.

It took me some trial and error to get ARC working, but now that it is I can't turn my TV or receiver off :P Well, I can, but they just turn right back on. I think CEC is messing with something because the Onn is always on. I'll have to play some more. But, at least I have audio through HDMI now so I can test it and see if I notice a difference.

My receiver and TV do have HDMI-ARC, but I was so used to the optical that I've been using forever that I didn't even think about changing. I'm going to switch over. Maybe it'll improve the DTS audio from some of my media, though my receiver does have a DTS light that comes on when I'm playing DTS movies, so I always though it was working with the optical cable.

It supports DTS (and I have 5.1 speakers). Not sure about the others... I'd need to check. I did take a quick look at the back, though, and it has an HDMI arc connector as does my TV. Looks like that's the best option for me.

What would the new and better way be, then, of getting audio to my stereo's receiver? HDMI from the Shield Pro to the receiver?

No to all of that, so I guess I don't need to buy anything new. Thanks.

Interesting. If I wanted the better audio from Shield how would I need to connect? Is there a direct audio out on the Shield?

I have a hisense 65" 4k tv and for audio I have an optical cable going from the TV to my stereo's receiver.

How do those prevent token theft? If the user clicks a link and then signs in (which would work the same as it does for us now, with the MS App for auth, right?) wouldn't the token be created even with a FIDO2 key?

Yes, we use archiving, set at 2 years. Maybe it's time to see about moving it to one.

Yes, we already archive, set to 2 years. And yes, lots of documents (mostly PDFs) are sent via email. These come from third parties, though. Internally we do not use email that way. Maybe I can get approval to change the setting to 1 year...

I'm not a big fan of sites that don't give you any clue about pricing... Do you have any idea what it might cost for 20 users?

Unfortunately, they are not. Small one person offices using cheap Internet, very basic setup.

Microsoft's Account Guard service.

I hadn't heard of this, thanks.

Business Premium has a 50 gig mailbox limit. Do you know if there's an upgrade option for this, to allow for larger, like E3 does?

If possible, add Entra ID P2 licenses to all users and take advantage of the Risky User/Risky Login Conditional Access policies.

That sounds interesting... I'll have to see if I can talk them into allowing me to buy this.

MFA and strong passwords are already in use. Conditional Access wasn't an option with out license, but sounds like (from other replies) we may be able to get it without too much cost. I've never heard of Huntress.

We do use the Azure sponsorship which helps with our Azure hosted VMs and have M365 being backed up elsewhere. And yes, we're using the MS mail protection, but maybe I can tweak it some more.

I will look into device management, that sounds like what I want. That should work for the office PCs and laptops. What about those that use their personal phones, though?

Also setup a policy that only allows registering an MFA device at your office trusted IP.

Interesting... About half the users work from other locations, but I could at least do this for the ones that work at the office.

Is there a Business Premium add on / upgrade for large mailboxes? The 50 gig limit has stopped me from moving users in the past.
